“White Eyes” is a name initially attributed to a Rendering Bug that turned into a Mythos
revolving around a set of two white pixels staring at the player from the dark. ‘White
Eyes’ in the modern day is most commonly associated with Endorphine’s thread, being
the current earliest surviving remnant of White Eyes’ legacy.
White Eyes is widely accepted to have been the predecessor of Herobrine, with the
theory that Endorphine’s thread was the text that very likely inspired the creation of the
creepypasta about Herobrine. This is a document putting together all known information
regarding White Eyes and the early Herobrine mythos.
This document exclusively contains information from prior to 29th of August, 2010. No
information further than this date will be included as this is when Copeland began
teasing the Brocraft Stream.

● August 1st. Contains a lot of White Eyes information, mainly its origin point, design
description, some lost media in the form of lost fanart, and people expanding the
concept of White Eyes with their own interpretations. This is the most extensive
archive of a possible ‘White Eyes’ fanbase.

● A video by user 'Curchack Curchack' - also known as Cura. This is a rip of Disc 13
uploaded the day after it was added. (July 31st, 2010)
● Most notably, this video contains two white pixels in the bottom left that may have
served as the inspiration for White Eyes. These white pixels were confirmed to be
deliberately placed by Cura and were inspired by a rendering bug.
● This is the first time the “White Eyes Rendering Bug” inspired a more
horror-focused take on the bug.

● Flaky, a participant of the original thread, drew fanart of White Eyes that was
reuploaded to DeviantArt and Tinypic, all of these pieces are considered to be lost
media and unrecoverable.

● Flaky had mentioned he was going to write a Creepypasta in the original White
Eyes thread. This creepypasta is not that work, but rather something that he
forwarded from 4chan's /v/ board. This creepypasta is older than Endorphine’s
post, but barely made an impact and is from a first person perspective within the
game itself.

● A Minecraft Forum post by user 'Goatie' posted on August 24th, 2010. This is
several days prior to the Copeland stream but a few days after the possible
posting of the original Herobrine post. Note that a lot of people in this thread are
not aware of who the "...default player model, only with whited out eyes", is.
● A commenter on August 25th mentions this is the second time they've seen a
story about a Steve with white eyes, this may be the second Herobrine story ever
written.
