1 Listen to your teacher and say how many parts are there in these words

Introduce the rules:
o One voiced vowel, one syllable
o 2 voiced vowels together, 1 syllable (exception: geology)
o 'e' at the end isn't count ; it's voiceless ( exception it's counted with 'le')
o Don't forget the final 's' (names : 1 syllable / misses : 2 syllables)

Hi Marta,
I've found your name on the Electronic-friend Exchange website, so I´m writing this
e-mail to introduce myself and to know more about you.
My name´s Rodrigo De Lavega and I´m 17 years old from Caracas, Venezuela. I´m a
pupil in the secondary school, in languages stream. I study French, Spanish and English. I
want to study other languages at university to be a translator in the future.
On weekends, I rarely get up early, I usually get up by 9.30, I take my lunch and go
to play tennis. Sometimes , I go outside with my friends for shopping or watching fillms in
the cinema.
During my free time, I always read books about history. My hobby is collecting old
currency and stamps .My friends called me old-fashioned because I often wear Jeans of the
80s with trainers. I never wear shoes; I don't like them.
My family is a typical Venezuelan: we live in a small village which has only 5.000
inhabitants. My mother is a housewife and my father is a carpenter .I have two brothers
Bruno and Hugo .Both of them are in the primary school.
My village is very pleasant.Our winters are often wet and rainy , but are not cold.
