Getting Started With Canvas
Canvas provides a user experience that is easy, simple, and intuitive. You can
access this content on your PC, laptop, tablet or handphone using the Canvas
Student app.
Here is what you can do in getting started with using Canvas.
Update your Profile
1. Click the Settings link in the Help Corner.
2. Locate and click the Profile navigation link.
3. Click the Edit Profile button.
4. Enter in the information you would like people to see

Update your Notification Preferences
1. Click the Settings link in the Help Corner.
2. Add Ways to Contact by clicking Add Email Address or Add Contact Method
3. Link to other services (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) by clicking the service’s
button under Other Services.
4. Locate and click the Notifications navigation link.
5. Edit Notification Preferences by clicking the Checkmark, Clock, Calendar,
and X icons for each Course Activity.

Communicate with your Instructor and Classmates
Announcements (Public)
1. Click on the appropriate Announcement title.
2. Leave a reply for appropriate announcement.
Discussions (Public)
1. Click on the appropriate Discussion title.
2. Leave a reply for appropriate discussion.
Inbox (Private)
1. Click the Inbox link in the Help Corner.
2. Enter a name, course, or group you would like to send a message to.
3. Write and send the message.

Search Canvas Guides
1. Click the Help link in the Help Center.
2. Click the Search the Canvas Guides link.
