The Human Disease Project
Immaculate Conception Polytechnic
Grade 11 – STEM (BIOLOGY 2)
HUMAN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY
Task
Your Instructor at Immaculate Conception Polytechnic, Mr.Paolo Llanera, has just given you
your first Project in Finals:
Your group will call any clinics in Bulacan and speak to the Medical Practitioner about a disease
that affects the human body (You need to record the conversation) Video or audio recording via
zoom.
Your Instructor must approve of the disease that you choose and he has high expectations for
you:
• Your presentation should be informative.
• You should present your material in a manner at your best.
• Your presentation should be interesting and hold the attention.
• You must have a strong visual presentation.
Process
Mr.Paolo Llanera is providing you with two ways on presenting the information on the human
disease. Though you must orally (Video Presentation) present what you have researched, you
are also required to leave informative material (Soft Copy) behind for the students to review
later. The two material are: a tri-fold brochure and a PPT presentation. Deadline: TBA
Both options must include the following information about your disease:
• A basic description of the disease
• A brief history of the disease
• Age group/gender/cultural group most affected by this disease
• The symptoms of the disease
• How the body is affected by the disease
• Cures or treatments for the disease
• What causes the disease (how can a person get it)
• How a person's daily life is affected by the disease
• Number of Filipinos affected by the disease
• Work Cited Page with at least three different sources. (Wikipedia may not be one of these
three main sources.) - References
Tri-fold Brochure
Your health brochure can be completed in one of two ways:
• Using a computer program, such as Microsoft Publisher
• By hand, using heavy-duty construction paper or oak tag—written work should be typed and
pasted neatly to the paper.
Layout:
Your health brochure should include a cover, 4 sections of information, and the back. Each
section should have both written information, pictures, photos or clip art that correspond to the
text. The brochure must be arranged as follows:
Inside
Section 1 Section 2 Section 3
~Brief history of disease ~Symptoms of the disease ~How does the disease affect
a person’s daily life
~Image related to the topic. ~How the disease affects the
body (what body system does ~Prevention of the disease
it affect-be specific as to
how it attacks organs or parts ~image related to the
of a particular body system) information
~image of body system

Outside
Section 4 Back Cover
~Basic description of ~Name of disease
the disease ~MR Works Cited Page with
at least three different ~Student first and last name
~Cause of the disease sources.
~Date
~Age group, gender,
cultural group most affected ~Strand/Yr & Section
by disease
~Pictures, photos, or
~image that relates to the clip art
information
PowerPoint
Your PowerPoint presentation should be used as a tool to guide you through
Layout:
Your slideshow must include at least 10 slides, but not exceed 18 slides.
Slides must include both written information and pictures, photos or clipart that
corresponds to the text.
Use the guide below to help you layout your slides:

Grade 11 – STEM DEPARTMENT
HUMAN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY
To: Mrs.Yolanda Bella
STEM Strand Head
Cc: Mrs.Mary Ann Marcelo
School Director –ICP
Good day! I would like to request for your approval in Biology 2 Project (Human Anatomy & Physiology)
for Grade 11 STEM Students.
The Human Disease Project
Overview: Students will learn about the various types of diseases humans are subject to and
will learn how to classify them, distinguish them from each other, and what kinds of precautions
can be taken to prevent some of them. Upon completion of this project, students will have
examined various diseases and determined their causes in order to become more informed
health advocates for themselves and others.
Objectives:
1. Consider a worldwide perspective of the different types of diseases as well as some of
the implications of biological warfare.
2. Research precautions that can be taken to prevent certain types of diseases and
analyze how some pathogens become antibiotic resistant.
3. Learn the differences between viral, bacterial and fungal diseases and toxins.
4. Understanding on how to prevent the spread of the disease.
5. To know the Medication and Cure: Synthetic and Medicinal Plants (Crude Drugs) on
certain disease.
6. Able to interact with Medical Practitioners & Patients.
I have also enclosed the rubrics for the students to follow and the sample letter to be given to
the Clinics/Hospitals.
Hoping for your approval on this matter.
Respectfully yours,
Mr.Paolo S.Llanera
