Configuration Considerations
Due to the Oracle Castles S1F2 memory size, it may be necessary to optimize the configuration data to avoid performance and stability issues.
If your Oracle Castles S1F2 exhibits performance or user interface display issues, reduce the amount of configuration data sent to the device. Use
the following guidelines and suggestions:
• If the device is configured to operate in more than one revenue center, reduce the number of revenue centers.
• Simplify the user interface and reduce the number of touchscreen pages:
o Remove images from the touchscreen pages (for example, buttons and screen backgrounds).
o Use zones to separate out pages that are not needed.
o Use features like Dynamic SLUs to reduce the number of pages required to display items in the revenue center.
o Minimize the number of rows and columns in each button grid (do not use a 256 x 256 grid when a 1x1 grid will do).
• Reduce the amount of menu item data:
o Use zones to reduce the number of menu times in the revenue center using Castles device.
o Delete menu item definition and price records that are no longer needed.
• Only download extension applications the device needs to perform transactions:
o Disable the supported platform option for this client type in Extension Applications.
