1. I don’t want training, I am looking for a job / Why is training before a job mandatory ?

Counsellor: I totally understand your situation.

Counsellor: Do you think you would be able to crack the interview if we schedule it for you without
training ?

Student: Yes

Counsellor: Let me take a short interview with the limited knowledge I have of banking.

 What is Bait Money?

 What is Call Money ?
 What are the duties of a Teller?

Counsellor: If you don’t mind me speaking frankly, from what I understand you do not have
enough knowledge about the banking industry to appear directly for an interview.

These days banks are cutting out on their training cost, they hardly give 1-2 days training on their
confidential details and expect employees to commence work immediately. So it is my
suggestion that you first gain enough knowledge before appearing for the interview.

Student: Where do I learn about that?

Counsellor: We at IPB train students and then schedule their interviews with India’s leading Private
Sector Banks for Branch Banking profiles. There is a 90 day training program by the end of
which a student becomes a smart banker and also gets a Post Graduate Certificate in Retail
Banking (PGCRB) that is valid throughout India.

2. The fees is too high.

Counsellor: You are right, infact when I heard the fees the first time, even I thought so.
But then I understood that the training is provided by the experienced bankers and not
professors. So, student learn from an experienced senior who has not just worked in banks
but run them successfully for decades. This program is based on practical learnings and
teachings.

You are currently looking at the cost of Rs. 60000 that you will have to pay for the course.
What you must add to this is the placement you will be receiving in a reputed bank with salary
in LPA!

This is an investment you would be making on yourself to learn those skills and knowledge
which are going to be there for you throughout your career.

Student: How is it an investment?

Counsellor: As I mentioned that it will give you the best returns in future. You are going into a
reputed industry which will not only groom you but also will help you with promotions every
year in regards to your performance.
The interview skills you would be learning are definitely going to help you anytime you think
of a job change.
The knowledge of the banking system is going to help you not only in your career but in your
personal life too. You would handle your finances better because you understand the roots
of the securities market. Similar is the case with your personality development.

Also, on a positive note, what others options are considering if not IPB’s PGCRB?

3. The competitor is charging less.

Counsellor: I agree. But it could be that you are being committed by the other company that the
placement shall be provided and you get to know after 3-4 months that you are asked to work
under the sales department or off role and contractual jobs.

OR

Counsellor : As an organisation, IPB is dedicated towards a mission of creating ONE LAKH bankers
by 2030 to contribute their bit to resolve the problem of unemployment in India. For this, we
have ensured to have best quality and placement opportunities for our students at the most
economical prices. Neither do we want to compromise on the quality of our training that is
going to benefit you for life nor do we want to cut down by reducing our placement team or
limiting placement options to our students.

4. Do you give a job guarantee?

Counsellor: We are sure to place you, because we only enrol those students who match our
eligibility criteria 100%- which is given to us by the banks.

Student: If I won’t get placed?

Counsellor: I would like you to remember that we have a set criteria for a student to sit for the
placement as well. Like you are required to have 90% attendance during these 90 days of
training and achieve 70% score in Final Exam as well. We also conduct a final mock interview
before you sit for the placement.

Student: In case, even after achieving all these criterias I am rejected after the interview, then
what?

Counsellor: I appreciate your question. I would like to tell you that we have a dedicated placement
team who provides you 5 interview chances. In case you miss out or get rejected from one
bank then we can help you to get placed in another. Also, I have faith in our training team -
they have been doing exceptionally well in training all our students because of which we have
offered 6000+ jobs so far and will continue to achieve more.

Student: Okay

Counsellor: Also don't worry we will be connected from now onwards. In case you face any issue
you can contact me for the same.
For your information, Private Sector Bnaks are growing at a fast rate- for example consider
HDFC – they are to open a minimum of 2500 more branches that means thousands of new
job opportunities ! Simultaneously RBI is issuing new licences to private banks ! IPB itself has
thousands of openings to fulfil and banks have given us numbers based on which we take our
admissions.

5. I have not heard of IPB.

Counsellor: I understand you might be concerned about the same but let me tell you about some
facts about the company.

Student: Please go ahead.

Counsellor: IPB is 8 years old with 25 centres in 13 states Pan India. We have placed 6000+
candidates across India in private banks. For more reference you can also visit our website
www.ipbindia.com and we are available on social media platforms like instagram, facebook,
linkedin and youtube. We are even certified by the Indian Government with an NSDC
certificate. I believe you have raised your query from (Eg. Instagram) right ?

Student: Yes. I was scrolling through instagram and saw your advertisement.

Counsellor: Great. So did you go through our page?

Student: No

Counsellor: No issues. After this call you can go through the same. We are actively posting about
the feedback from the placed candidates, fun activities at our office, bits about banking and
building a career in banking.

OR

We can also provide contact details of the placed candidates at your nearby location. You can
also visit nearby branches as well to meet the placed candidate in person.

6. Can I pay in instalments?

Counsellor: Absolutely. We have multiple payment option facilities as well. You can pay in 2
instalments of 30 k each or 3 instalments of 20 k each. But the amount needs to be clear
within 45 days.

Student: This is difficult for me to pay 20k every month.

Counsellor: No problem. We have another payment option as well that is interest free loan. Either
you can opt for a 6 months loan facility with an instalment of 10000/- per month or you can
opt for a 9 months loan facility with an instalment of 6667/- per month. Both are 0% interest
loans however for the 9 month loan there is a processing fees of Rs.1200/-

7. Do I get a discount on one time payment?

Counsellor: Yes, you can get a discount of 5% i.e., Rs. 3000 off on the price and pay only Rs.57000
if you would like to proceed with the one time payment.
8. Why should I do NISM?

Counsellor: Okay. Before this I would like to ask you whether you are familiar with what NISM is?

Student: If No (Continue) / If Yes (Listen to the brief given by the candidate and then continue)

Counsellor:

If No - No issues I'll help you out to learn better about NISM.

IF Yes - I appreciate you to see your in depth knowledge and your willingness to learn more. But I
would like to tell you more about NISM and how it will benefit you in future.

Counsellor: So NISM (National Institute of Securities Market) certification can majorly open up
many job opportunities for you in future as there are many roles and companies which prefer
NISM certifications. It has a validity of 3 years. For example if you want to become a mutual
fund advisor then it is mandatory to have a NISM certificate. In layman language it is
important to improve your skills and knowledge which eventually will help in career growth
as well. In fact after certain levels, your promotions could be hampered by lack of NISM
certification.

Above all banks prefer to hire a NISM certified candidate over a non certified candidate
because it shows their dedication towards BFSI along with having ample knowledge.

9. What if I don’t clear the interview in 5 chances?

Counsellor: Great question. But I would like to ask you why you are doubtful of yourself?

Student: Not doubtful but a clarity of thought.

Counsellor: Okay that’s good. I would like to inform you that we are a firm believer in terms of
providing you with the best services. I am confident enough that once you would complete
your training by fulfilling all the criteria. And not on the 5th but you will clear the interview in
the first go itself.

Also we have the best trainers with experience of 15+ years working as ex-bankers who take
mock interviews and the final interview. So you are well prepared to join the private sector
bank.

10. I don’t understand Online training, I need Offline training.

Counsellor: I totally understand. I would like to ask why you think you would learn more through
offline classes than through online?

Student: I am not able to concentrate on online training. Also I will be able to understand better
from the trainer in offline class.

Counsellor: Agreed. During Offline sessions you tend to get personalised feedback from the
trainers and majorly they are more dependable.
But think of this, during an online session you will save the time involved in travelling to attend
the class that will eventually save the cost as well. Rather I believe you will be able to
concentrate better in online class as there won't be any noise or distractions.
During the training session, we conduct group discussions, visually explaining topics through
diagrams or graphs, dummy branch concepts

Above all, the personalised feedback and attention you expect from offline classes is available
with us online too!
Think about this, you are to work in a bank and guide people - which requires immense
technology handling, but you don't want your classes online ! It's the first step. Remember we
cannot run from change, the faster you accept it the better you grow.

Student: Still I want to opt for offline training only.

Counsellor: Okay no issues, I appreciate your choice. We have few offline centres as well at the
<destined locations>. You can enrol for the same in case you want the offline training.

11. Why should I give interviews after training?

Counsellor: Your interviews are to be aligned with banks where you are to commence your banking
career. We train you according to the requirements of the banks and have helped 6000+
master the skill of cracking interviews.

Student: Can I get a job without an interview?

Counsellor: I am sorry, that won’t be possible. We can guide you completely and help you clear
the interview but a job without an interview is not an option with us.

12. I want to visit a different centre.

Counsellor: You can certainly visit any of our centres. If you could help me with your exact address,
I can help you locate the nearest centres.

Student: <Shares address>

Counsellor: I believe this would be the closest for you. Let me share the location on your
WhatsApp. I can book your counselling session with the concerned centre if you could give
me a specific date and time.

Student: Why do I need an appointment? Can I not walk in directly?

Counsellor: You definitely can, but as you rightly mentioned, a lot of walk-ins happen daily and
could cause chaos or they might have to ask you to wait for your turn. But since you're already
connected with me, a member of IPB, I want to ensure that someone is already dedicated to
you and available at the time you wish to visit.

Student: Ok I would like to visit at ___ <Student confirm’s date and time>

Counsellor: I would suggest that you start filling your application form inorder to give for me to
confirm your eligibility for PGCRB. Our applications get approved by the placement
department, who will be scheduling your interviews after the training program. We cannot
admit any student without the approval of our placement team.

13. Why do you have eligibility criteria?

Counsellor: Since we assure 100% job placement, we need to go by the regulations of the banks.
We know the criteria that the banks would be looking for in candidates. Some of these
criterias are skills that can be developed like interview skills, banking knowledge, while some
criteria like age and academic scores cannot be changed. Inorder to maintain our 100%
placement record, we look at all the things before admission.

14. Will I get placement in my district / town / city?

Counsellor: We try to place our students in their preferred location but cannot assure placement
within your city or district.
You have to understand that we are talking here about banks- only when there is a
requirement can we schedule your interview there right ? But be rest assured that you will
be placed within your state. (except Bihar)

You should know that the HRs of the banks also prefer to hire locals. This has multiple benefits
– the candidate wouldn’t have to relocate, will be punctual to job, will not be looking for ob
changes too frequently (especially in metro cities where traffic is too high), the candidate
would have an established network that he/she could use for the benefit of the bank, the
candidate could feel safer and more comfortable. But at the end of the day it depends on the
candiadte’s interpersonal skills and vacancy in the locality.

15. Is this a contract job?

Counsellor:This is not a contract job. You will be working directly with the banks and not through
any third party. The banks after hiring have a probation period of 3 - 6 months, after which
the candidate becomes a permanent employee.

Student: What if the bank doesn’t confirm my employment?

Counsellor: Banks need skilled employees and are on the lookout for the same. They take their
employment terms and employees very seriously. Unlike any corporation, banks never lay off
employees for no reason. In fact even if you make an error- unless it is intentional you will
not be punished for it.

You tell me have you heard of any friend or relative of yours who has complained that the bank
fired them ?

Student: No

Counsellor: Exactly, because it doesn't happen. Do not worry, focus on understanding the topics
taught in the class and show dedication towards your work; everything else will fall in place.
16. Is sales a part of the job KRA ?

Counsellor: Certainly it is.

Student: I don’t want a sales job.

Counsellor: Understood. Do not worry, you won't be given a profile in the sales department but in
frontend operations. What you need to understand is that some amount of sales is definitely
present in all the departments of the bank. But these are not hard targets and mostly won't
require you to do field sales.

Student: Even after training, if I should get a sales role why should I train?

Counsellor: Exactly, to be a part of the sales team you don't need any training, you could sit directly
for the interview. But what I am trying to tell you is that even in the operational roles in a
bank there is some % of sales involved.
Tell me, after a few years when you become Branch Manager and are responsible for the
entire branch what all will you be handling?

Student: Operations of the branch

Counsellor: And?

Student: Don’t know

Counsellor: You are responsible for the entire branch operations and revenue. Growth of the
branch is your responsibility. And as you would have guessed by now, without sales how can
revenue or growth be attained ?
Let me give you one example, I am a counsellor- my job is to counsel the students who wish
to know. But there is sales in my role too! But I am not going anywhere to meet people, people
come to my centre where I only guide them. Which is exactly what you would be doing too!!

If you want to grow in the banking & financial sector you will have to accept sales. The faster you
accept the faster you grow.

17. Can I get more instalments as I am financially weak?

Counsellor: Certainly. I’ll do everything in my power to help you.

Classes can be commenced after the payment of Rs. 20,000/-. And the entire amount of
Rs.60,000/- needs to be paid within 45 days. You can pay me in as many instalments as you
prefer as long as the entire amount is paid up in 45 days. Or you could consider our interest
free loan options also.

18. What is CIBIL? How can I check my CIBIL score?

Counsellor: CIBIL Score is a three digit numeric summary of your credit history. It ranges from 300
to 900. Good CIBIL score implies that you have a good financial history.

Student: How can I check the CIBIL Score?

Counsellor: Well you can visit your respective banks to check the same. You can visit
Paisabazaar.com or myscore.cibil.com and fill in the details and check CIBIL Score. You will
need your PAN card to check your CIBIL. CIBIL is checked on your Savings Account.

Student: Is it for free?

Counsellor: Bank allows to check CIBIL Score for free twice in a year. But you can visit other
websites as well like Paisabazaar.com and myscore.cibil.com where you check the score for
free.

19. My father is a farmer, can I get a loan?

Counsellor: Absolutely. We have a loan facility available for you as well. IPB provides two loan
options for 6 months and 9 months with monthly instalments of 10,000/- and 6667/-
respectively.

Student: How can I apply for the same?

Counsellor: We will require a few documents for the same like Pan Card, Adhaar Card, Photograph,
7/12 land document with sanctioned letter by the bank. In detail information about the same
shall be shared with you through Whatsapp.

Student: Okay that's great. Is there any interest?

Counsellor: No it is an interest free loan option.

20. Is there any growth in the Banking Sector?

Counsellor: Ofcourse. Banking is a profession that offers a huge variety of opportunities as well as
rapid career progression. One can reach from the Probationary officer to Branch Manager or
General Manager level with a handsome salary package, extra advantages or perks.

Student: Is banking a good long term career?

Counsellor: Yes. It is a profitable and rewarding experience with many entry level jobs that can
help you build your resume and network. Also banks offer competitive salaries and benefits
as well. Banks are known for being stable, which means you will have job security too.

21. Will I get job assistance after placement ? What if I don’t like the job provided by you and
want to change , will I be given another chance ?

Counsellor: I and my entire team will assist you through your entire journey at IPB, till you receive
your offer letter.

Student: What if I am facing some issues and want to change bank?

Counsellor: I understand your query. Adjusting to new environment and tasks can be hard at the
beginning, you could seek us out for assistance in dealing with your KRAs. But we only
assurance 1 placement after training. You have to understand that we serve banks too and
cannot encourage our students to jump banks and assist that too.
Student: Okay. Noted.

22. How is IPB different from its competitors ?

Counsellor: Certainly. First, I would like to ask you whom you have contacted before? What
difference did you feel in our services and the services which they have provided ?

Student: <competitor name> and <services they have provided>

Counsellor: I agree that they have provided the training and placement. Are you sure they will
place you in Branch Banking Profiles itself?

Student: No

Counsellor: Certainly. We at IPB provide you with the facilities which we commit to you from the
very beginning. We assure 100% placement as we make sure we don’t add those students or
candidates to our batch which will eventually result in not being placed.

Moreover, we have the best trainers who are ex-bankers with work experience of 15+
years and an energetic placement team who will make sure the candidate is placed at a
private sector bank.

Student: In case I face any issue, then what?

Counsellor: If you face any concern, you can let us know. We are here to assist you during your
journey your entire journey at IPB, till you receive your offer letter.

23. Do you have offline centres ?

Counsellor: Yes. In total we have 25 centres in 13 states. Out of which we have offline and online
centres as well. We have 4 Offline centres - Delhi, Varanasi, Surat and Bhubaneshwar. Where
do you reside?

Student: <Mentions the location>

Counsellor: Great. Your location seems near to the offline centre, if you are interested in the offline
class then let me know or you can visit the centre nearby. We assure you that we will provide
you the same facilities as given for online class.

OR

Counsellor: Great. But your location seems far away. You can opt for online class instead. There
will be no difference in regards to training and placement process. Rather more interactive to
avoid boredom. I believe you should go for an online class itself. It could help you to cut short
on your expenses as well.

24. Are the fees the same for all centres ?

Counsellor: Yes. The fees will be the same for all the 25 centres across India. It shall be 60,000/-
for 3 months (including GST). Sometimes we do offer discounts around festivals, we will let
you know as applicable. The discounts will also be the same for all the centres. One discount
that I have now is the 5% off on onetime full payment.

25. Duration of classes?

Counsellor: The duration of the class will be 1.5 hours for each working day. There are 2 batches
for morning and evening respectively. Either you can opt for morning class or evening class.

Student: What will be the timings?

Counsellor: For morning class, timings shall be either from 9 am to 10.30 am OR 11 am to 12.30
pm (we will let you know in advance before your batch starts). For evening, the timings shall
be 06.30 pm to 8 pm.

Student: Is it possible if I want to change my timings from morning to evening in the middle of my
training?

Counsellor: No. You have to decide in advance, before the batch starts, whether you want to go
for a morning batch or evening batch.

Student: What if due to an emergency I had to switch the timings as I am working somewhere
where my shift timings are rotational?

Counsellor: Then you probably have to contact your current company to assign you with the
particular shift which does not hamper your training period.

Student: What if due to some personal reason I may not continue with the morning batch but I
want to join the evening batch now?

Counsellor: We will probably have to shift you to an entirely new batch for the evening. But in that
case your syllabus might be repetitive. As you would have already covered those topics during
your morning batch. In any unavoidable circumstances, you can call me, your counsellor and
I will directly coordinate with the respective team for the same.

26. Can we get recorded classes?

Counsellor: As of now we do not provide pre-recorded sessions. But I am sure your feedback shall
be a great addition to our organisation. I will share the same with the management to work
on.

We only provide online live sessions on Google meet which is probably more interactive and a
great learning experience as compared to listening to a pre-recorded session. You get more
clarity on the doubts as asked.

27. Do you provide books?

Counsellor: Yes. We provide E-books to all the candidates. You could have it printed if you like, but
E-book should be handy.
28. Why should I give the final exam after training ?

Counsellor: As I can see you have completed your education in <Name of the degree>, did you give
final exams during your course completion?

Student: Yes. Of course.

Counsellor: Exactly. These final exams are meant to be taken to understand your knowledge and
your learning about the course. We here at IPB, conduct mock interviews and final exams in
order to check your in depth knowledge and understanding in regards to retail banking. You
will eventually be working in a dynamic industry where you need to be updated with all the
guidelines shared by the RBI. So from your academic knowledge and your personality
everything will be taken into consideration.

Student: Will this affect my placement as well?

Counsellor: Yes. We prefer that the student attain a certain set of marks i.e. 70% to be able to sit
for the placement. As we don’t want your knowledge or your communication skills to
eventually affect your final interview with the banks.

Moreover, you would be getting a certificate of PGCRB and your score from your final exam and
final mock are the ones which will be printed on the certificate.

29. Why are banks hiring from IPB ?

Counsellor: Banks are hiring candidates from IPB because we at the very initial step filter out all
the candidates who aren’t eligible to work at the bank. This is the reason why I have confirmed
all the details in the beginning of the call.

Student: Do you have tie ups?

Counsellor: No, we do not have a tie up but they are our prospective recruiters. We train and
select candidates according to the banking criteria and guidelines. It becomes easy for us to
place you in a private sector bank. Also it becomes easy for banks to hire you, who will be a
trained candidate with the skills as required by the bank.

30. How can I get my certificate ?

Counsellor: After the successful completion of your Post Graduate Certificate in Retail Banking, we
will be sharing the soft copy of the certificate with you.

31. Can I get a 1-1 doubt clearing session ?

Counsellor: We do take doubts during the session as well. If you still face any issue or concerns in
understanding any topic then by the end of the session you can ask the trainer to help you
with the same.

Student: Can I get a separate session for doubt clearing?

Counsellor: In case you are finding it difficult to understand after the topic being explained during
the session and after session as well, then we can arrange a session for those candidates who
are facing difficulty in the same.

33. Can I get a demo class?

Counsellor: Certainly. We arrange a demo session for free in which you will get to know about an
overview of the Institute of Professional Banking. We will go through the Post Graduate
Certificate in Retail Banking (Course) including the curriculum, insights about the training and
how placement procedure will take place.

Student: Will I get to meet actual trainers as well?

Counsellor: Not the actual trainers but as of now for a demo session, Sr. Manager from the
respective team shall join and welcome you to give an overview about what actually you
would be learning during your training.

Moreover, we will take your doubts as well. So if you have any concerns or questions in your mind
in regards to joining the course you can ask and confirm from the respective manager. This
session will be attended by many other students, so you can be sure that everyone is treated
equally and fairly. The Sr. Manager does this also to check if all the counsellors communicate
similar to ensure quality intake of students.

34. Is the fee refundable if I am not placed ?

Counsellor: As I mentioned that we provide 100% placement in private sector banks. We assure
you to give you the best of training and help you get placed in a reputed private sector bank.
I am sure you will be able to clear the certification and will be placed as well.

Student: Still by any chance?

Counsellor: We provide you with 5 interview chances where in case you didn't get placed in one
then you can go for the interview in another bank. Nevertheless, the fee shall be non-
refundable because you are paying for the 3 months training program and not for placement
as we are not a job consultancy.

 There is vacancy

44. I am preparing for government exams

Counsellor: Wow! Glad to see your commitment towards your career!

I am sure you know about the heavy competition for government jobs. For each position
thousands if not lakhs of candidates try with their whole heart. Not trying to demotivate you
but stating the reality – probability of successful placement in government sector is too low
consider the number of aspirants.

No doubt in government sector banks the initial salary of a person is higher as compared to private
sector banks. But in the long run, government banks don’t pay the amount private banks can.
For example a GM in Government Bank can earn around 35 Lakhs pa, whereas a Private Bank
GM’s package is around 3-4 Crore pa!!! Since your someone who is focused on your career
and wishes growth at a faster pace I wouldn’t suggest government banks to you.

Where you spend years preparing for the government exam, here you can get placed right after
90 days! You see where your career begins faster !

Vacancies in government banks are bound to decrease since government is favouring privatization
of banks! Corporate Giants like Reliance and Bajaj have submitted their proposal to the RBI
for Banking licenses and existing banks like HDFC have declared opening of 2500+ branches
in the near future. See where the future is headed and build a strong career in that sector.

45. Can I pay after placement?

Counsellor: I understand your point. But I am sorry, such options are available only in HTD model
i.e., Hire Train and Deploy, they are only used in sales roles not in operational. Since we don’t
deal with sales roles, we don’t work on HTD model.

You could consider the loan options with 0% interest or 0% EMI
