STANDARD carrying out projects

LEARNING By the end of this lesson, students are able to:

OBJECTIVE 1. Demonstrate and explain that plants can reproduce through seeds, cutting,
and runners.
SUCCESS CRITERIA 1. Students can describe at least two ways plant reproduce.
2. Students can complete a project showing one method of reproduction.

PRIOR Basic understanding of plant part (roots, stems, leaves) and seed growth.
KNOWLEDGE

TEACHING AIDS 1. Seed (beans or peas), plant cutting, potted plants with runner (strawberries).
2. Diagrams of different plant reproduction methods.
3. Small pots, soil, scissors for cutting plants.
CROSS- 1. English: Vocabulary related to plant parts and reproduction.
CURRICULAR 2. Art: Drawing and labeling the parts of a plant.
ELEMENTS (CCE)
HOTS / i-THINK Predict what might happen if a plant loses its seeds but can reproduce through
others means like runners or cuttings.

ASSESSMENT & 1. Group project evaluation (successful planting and explanation)

EVALUATION 2. Pupils ability to generalize from the observed methods.

1. Observation of plant growth.

SCIENTIFIC SKILLS 2. Hands-on skills: planting seeds, creation cuttings.

THINKING SKILLS 1. Classification: Different ways plants reproduce

2. Analysis: Comparing reproduction methods.

SCIENTIFIC 1. Responsibility in handling living things.

ATTITUDES AND 2. Appreciation for plant diversity and nature.
