“CLEAN SCHOOL, GREEN SCHOOL”

Project Proposal: Waste Management Program in School.

Date:

September 18, 2024

1. Introduction:

Our school generates significant waste daily, including paper, plastic, and
organic materials. If not managed properly, this waste can harm the
environment and affect our school’s cleanliness. This project aims to
implement a waste management program that will help reduce waste,
promote recycling, and ensure a cleaner school environment.

2. Purpose/Needs:

The program addresses the need for effective waste disposal by promoting
recycling, waste segregation, and composting. By involving the school
community, we aim to reduce waste production and raise awareness about
the importance of sustainability.

3. Project Description:

The program will involve waste segregation, composting, and recycling

activities. Labeled bins will be placed around the school to separate waste
into recyclables, compostable materials, and non-recyclables. The program
will include educational activities such as workshops and campaigns to
encourage students and staff to participate in waste reduction efforts.

4. Goals/Objectives:
- Reduce waste generation by 30%.

- Implement proper waste segregation throughout the school.

- Engage 200 students and staff in waste management activities.

- Increase recycling by 50%.

5. Methodology:

- Coordination: Meetings with the school administration and student leaders

to plan and launch the program.

- Waste Collection: Designated bins will be placed in key areas, and waste
will be collected and segregated daily.

- Composting and Recycling: Organic waste will be composted, while

recyclables will be properly processed.

- Awareness Campaigns: Posters, seminars, and events will raise awareness

about proper waste disposal.

- Evaluation: The program will be evaluated through feedback and waste

reduction data collection.

6. Expected Outcome:

- A cleaner, more sustainable school environment.

- Increased recycling and reduced waste.

- Enhanced environmental awareness among students and staff.

- Sustainable waste management practices integrated into school life.

Approval:

We request approval from the school principal and administration to proceed

with the waste management program.
