Note 1
For P-No.1 Group Nos.1 and 2 materials
If fibre elongation is between 5 ~ 40% and comply to any one of clause in UCS 79*(Refer below table)it shall be stress relieved as per UCS 56
Note 2
Other than P-No.1 Group Nos.1 and 2 materials (<5% heat treatment not required. Refer Note 1,2 if the value exceeds 5%)
If fibre elongation is between 5% and comply to any one of clause in UCS 79*(Refer below table)it shall be stress relieved as per UCS 56

CONDITIONS YES NO
* a) The vessel will contain a lethal substance
b) The material requires impact tesing
c) The thickness of the part before forming exceeds 5/8" (16mm)
d)The reduction in thickness due to forming is more than 10% at any location where the fibre elongation exceeds 5%
Actual minimum thickness shall not be lower than 11.25mm
Percentage of reduction in thickness 8.00%

e) The temperature of the material during forming is between 250 F to 900 F (120 C to 480 C)
Based on the above Heat Treatment is Not required

Common used.

A. Carbon Steel
The following requirement shall apply to all and carbon manganese steels.

- Carbon content for carbon steel plate, pipe or forgings intended for welding shall not exceed 0.23%

- Carbon Equivalent shall satisfy the following requirement:

1. Ceq = C + Mn/6 < 0.42

(This formula may be used only if the material standard specifies C and Mn only)

2. Ceq = C + Mn/6 + (Cr + Mo + V)/5 + (Cu+Ni)/15 < 0.45

- PRE(Pitting Resistance Equivalent) = %Cr + 3.3 x %Mo + 16 x %N

- ferrite content of each component is between 35% and 55% shall demonstrate, either by certification or by testing.
