Computer Literacy and Digital Skills Training

(First Phase)

This training aims to empower individuals in Makera community with essential and basic computer skills,
which are increasingly important in today’s digital world. The training will include basic computer literacy,
internet navigation and online safety, word processing, spreadsheet management, and Artificial Intelligence
management among other skills. This initiative aims to bridge the digital gap and enhance the participants'
knowledge.
 • Methodology ( Orientation and sensitization program )
Visitation to schools:- meeting school management for consent and scheduling sessions with students
discussing the following:
i. Purpose and value of education
ii. Technology and ICT taking the leads
iii. Become the best you
iv. Introduction to computer literacy training and our courses

• Course Outline
The course is packaged and streamlined to run for 6 weeks (1 & ½ months)

Week 1: Introduction to computer and computer components (Identifying learners’ computer literacy level)
Week 2: Introduction to computer appreciation (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Week 3: Continuation of computer appreciation
Week 4: Introduction to internet basics and online safety
Week 5: Introduction to artificial intelligence and basic AI usage
Week 6: Assessment (Participation and attendance, Quiz and assignment scores, Final project quality)

• Marketing / Advertising Plan

Flyers will be distributed to schools and organizations for sensitization activity and online adverts (WhatsApp,
Facebook, Twitter etc.) will also be used
