A Preface from Editor-in-Chief
Dear Readers,
The Riset Geologi dan Pertambangan Indonesian Journal of Geology and Mining (Riset IJGM) is now
reborn with the spirit of the National Journal of Geology and Mining (NIGM) which was established in
1977. Riset IJGM is moving to a higher index journal on national and global scales.
The Riset IJGM is pleased to announce the launch of a new face and open access journal management
covering research activities in the broad area of geology, applied geophysics, economic mineral, and
mining. The journal provides authors to communicate their research results to the global geosciences and
mining scientific communities.
Experts leading in their field handle the peer-review process. We now have seventeen external and
international editors from the Nantes University of France, Institute of Earth Science, Academia Sinica of
Taiwan, University of Botswana, Mahidol University of Thailand, University of Philippines, Institut
Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Padjadjaran, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Pembangunan
Nasional, and Pertamina University. We also collaborate with the Geological Agency and the Ministry of
Public Works. Internally, we also have wide expertise in the editorial board who are ready to review your
manuscripts.
Riset IJGM has a new format starting from Vol 31, No.1 (June 2021). We publish this volume with five
articles written in English in a single-column format that aims to expand the readers of our journal. Please
note that we still accept manuscript submission in Bahasa Indonesia, but authors should change the
language to English before the publication. We provide assistance to help you with this for free (until Vol
32 No 2, December 2022).
This volume comprises articles on applied geophysics discussing geoelectrical data and stratigraphic
interpretation for aquifer mapping, seismic refraction for rock layers characterization, two-dimensional
inversion modeling using magnetotelluric (MT), hydrogeological study in Karangsambung, and
biostratigraphy analysis in the eastern arm of Sulawesi.
