MGD/X Syringe Filters
The MGD/X range is specifically designed for high particulate loaded samples. Constructed of a pigment
–free polypropylene housing with a pre filtration stack of micro separations MGF (micro glass fibre media),
these filters eliminate sample contamination and allow you to filter even the most difficult samples with less
hand pressure.

Micro Separations MCE (Mixed cellulose ester) membrane is biologically inert, it’s one of the most widely used
membranes in research applications, MCE membrane filters are characterized by a smoother and more uniform
surface than pure nitro cellulose filter, providing superior flow rates. Withstand autoclaving temperatures up to
130oC without adversely affecting bubble point, flow rate or microbiological recovery.

Hydrophobic PTFE Membrane (MPTF)
Micro Separations hydrophobic PTFE membrane is made from pure PTFE membrane bounded to a
polypropylene support. The extreme chemical compatibility (pH 1-14) makes them very useful for the filtration
of solvents and acids or other aggressive chemicals, for which other membrane filter types are unsuitable. Due
to their hydrophobic characteristics, they must be pre-wet with a solvent such as ethanol or methanol before the
filtration of aqueous solutions.

Hydrophilic Pvdf Membrane (MPPV)
Micro Separations hydrophilic PVDF (Polyvinylidene Difluoride) membrane filter has excellent water wettability,
providing high flow rate. PVDF membrane are naturally hydrophobic but are modified to a hydrophilic nature.
Useful for a wide range of applications, both aqueous and non-aggressive solvents-based. These membranes are
typically low protein binding and are frequently used for sterilizing filtration.

Capsule Filter
Our capsule filters are available in different sizes with effect filtration surface areas ranging from 150 to 1500
cm2. Capsules are available with membranes such as PES, nylon PTFE PVDF and non-woven polypropylene and
glass fiber depth media. The capsules are available with a variety of end fittings such as stepped barbs, tri-clamp
(sanitary) and NPT connections. Sterile and non-sterile options are also available.

Micro separations filter is self-contained, compact, high flow, liquid rated, sterilizing-grade devices that meets
the critical demands of the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and related industries. The product is designed and
purposes build for small scale critical air and gas filtration applications.

Rugged polypropylene housings have broad chemical compatibility, hydrophobic membranes, including PTFE,
PVDF, fiber glass laminated, provide high efficiency removal of airborne bacteria and particulate under dry or
moist conditions.

These devices act as barriers on air lines. They prevent the entry of water and aerosols into sensitive equipment
and also protect the lab environment from aerosolized pathogens. Vent filters can also enable air to enter and
exit vessels such as bioreactors, while maintaining the sterility of the interior environment.

Micro Separations cellulose nitrate membranes are recommended for routine laboratory application involving
aqueous solutions. The membrane exhibit very narrow pore size distribution and have low level of extractable.
The membranes are strong and flexible and can with stand handling and autoclaving procedure without loss of
integrity.

These filters are used in qualitative technique to determine and identify material.

Grade-MS-1
11µm – a medium retention and flow rate filter for routine application- including soil analysis and seed testing
procedure, food industry testing, air pollution monitoring and gas detection.

Quantitative Filter
Micro Separations quantitative filters are designed for gravimetric analysis and preparation of samples of
instruments analysis.

Grade-MS-40
8µm general purpose ashless filter with medium speed and particle retention. Application includes gravimetric
analysis, the filtration of solutions prior to atomic absorption spectrophotometry and in air pollution monitory.

Grade-MS-41
20-25µm- the fastest ashless filter is recommended for analytical procedures involving large particles or
gelatinous precipitates as such iron or aluminum hydroxides. Also used in quantitative air pollution analysis for
determining gaseous compound at high flow rates.

Grade-MS-42

2.5µm- filter with the finest particle retention of cellulose filters. Typically analytical precipitates include
barium sulphate, metastenic acid and finely precipitated calcium carbonate.
