Performance Task: Tourism Video on Philippine Festival

Objectives:

By the end of this task, students will be able to:

1. Showcase the cultural and historical significance of a selected Philippine festival.

2. Highlight the visual beauty and unique features of the place of origin of the festival.

3. Demonstrate creativity and storytelling skills in promoting local culture and tourism.

4. Develop teamwork and collaboration in producing a video project.

5. Present an engaging and informative video that promotes Philippine tourism and pride in local
heritage through Festival Dances.

Instructions:

1. Group Assignment: Each block will be assigned a specific Philippine festival and its place of origin.
Your task is to create a 2 – 3 minute tourism video that promotes both the festival and the beauty of
the location

2. Content:
o Festival Overview: Include information about the history, significance, and highlights of
the festival (e.g., dances, costumes, rituals, performances).

o Place of Origin: Capture the scenic and cultural beauty of the location, showcasing its
landmarks, nature, architecture, or notable attractions.

o Tourism Appeal: The video should invite viewers to visit the place and participate in the
festival.

o Narration & Storytelling: Ensure the video includes a clear narrative. You can use
voiceovers, captions, or interviews.

o Music & Audio: Use traditional or local music to enhance the cultural feel. Make sure
the audio is clear and balanced.

3. Video Format:

o Duration: 2-3 minutes

o File Format: MP4

o Quality: Minimum 720p resolution

o Submission: Upload the final video to your designated folder at our pinned link on our
GC and submit the video on NOVEMBER 20, 2024.

4. Research & References: Use credible sources for your research about the festival. Include credits
or citations for any information, music, or footage not created by your group.

5. Group Work: Assign roles within your group (e.g., director, scriptwriter, editor, presenter) to
ensure collaboration. All members must contribute to the project.

Guidelines:

1. Authenticity: The video should reflect the true essence of the festival and the place. Avoid
distorting cultural facts or over-commercializing the content.
2. Creativity: Use different camera angles, transitions, and editing techniques to make the video
visually appealing. However, avoid overusing effects that may distract from the message.

3. Engagement: Keep the audience engaged throughout the video with a strong narrative,
appealing visuals, and dynamic content.

4. Technical Quality: Ensure good video and audio quality. Poor lighting, shaky footage, or unclear
audio may affect your grade.

5. Respect for Culture: Show respect for local customs and traditions. Avoid stereotyping or
misrepresentation of the culture.
