Solving traffic problems has become an integral part of the rising debate in the
present world including Viet Nam . Some people believe that the government
should increase personal vehicle taxes and use that money to improve public
transportation . While components of the argument are in favor . However, the
opponents are completely against the relevance of the solving traffic
problems .This essay will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of such a situation
and draw a conclusion.
On the one hand , I feel that this issue is very interesting and I think it should be
brought up to discuss the nature of the matter .The first suggestion is that taxing
private car owners will promote the use of public transportation systems as people
will be discouraged from purchasing a car in lieu of avoiding taxes. It will ensure
lesser traffic, thus making the roads more manageable. Addtionally, it will also
ease the pressure on roads, making maintenance, bridgework and new
constructions easy and more effective.Above are the favorable factors of the
problem that I think it will help us gain more benefits when knowing about it.
On the other hand , I feel that the opposite side to the above favorable argument is
also very interesting and we should also explore it to understand the nature of
things better . Firstly , high tax increases will limit people from buying cars,
leading to emergencies and not being able to drive. Secondly, taxing private car
owners can also be objected as a form of discrimination, as only a select few will
be taxed.I feel that the disadvantages here are also worth considering and I always
want people to be able to choose the factors that bring the best .
To conclude , there are to sides to everything ,and this situation is not an
exception .The solving traffic problems has become a crucial part of our
life .Therefore, efficient use of USING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION should be
promoted ,however, it’s misuse should be condemned.
