@ I still remember / recall / recollect the very

1st time I played … It was when I was knee-

high to a grasshopper, around …, to be more
exact / It was when I was a primary school
student, …
@ To be honest, I was a bit confused and
nervous as I didn’t know how to play it but the
other … encouraged me to give it a try / give
it a shot // talked me into playing it
@ First of all, we used draw strawing / coin
flipping to decide on the players and the
teams (and asked … to be the referee). We
also had a quick discussion to choose the 1 st
one & the last in a line & unfortunately I was
selected to be the one in the 1st position
@ Of course, I didn’t have much experience,
so we lost the 1st round – we were a bit sad
but we still didn’t want to give up & would
love to try it again
@ In the 2nd round, we were able to find a way
to drag the other team over the line on the
ground & became the winner – we were on
cloud 9
@ Over time we managed to learn some tips
for the game …
talk sb into (doing) sth >< talk sb out of
(doing) sth

WORDS / WHAT I MEAN IS THAT … / WHAT I’M
TRYING TO SAY IS THAT … (games that are
amazing exercises 4 the brain)
=> have a lot on our plate / have a lot to
handle at the same time / be under a lot of
pressure at work / be snowed under

their children to play games?
