Writing a story

The nightmare holiday

Two years ago I went to Portugal to visit my father. One of the places I visited was a
beautiful town called Sintra. On the website, it said that the hotel had free parking
and quiet rooms. It was a hostel so I was suspicious that this wouldn’t be true but I
went anyway.

At first, the trip was amazing. On the drive there I saw lots of wild animals and big
green forests with lakes and rivers. It was so different to home! After a while I arrived
in Sintra and I was as beautiful as I had expected. I arrived at the hostel and guess
what? There wasn’t any free parking, or any parking at all! Eventually I found a
space for the car and I went upstairs to the reception. The man showed my room
and things got worse - my room was shared with 6 other people! I was so unhappy
that I decided to leave my bags and go out for dinner to relax.

I had a delicious dinner in a small typical Portuguese restaurant - I was finally

starting to feel better. I went back to my room and tried to sleep even though it was
really noisy. When I woke up the next day, I had a terrible tummy ache! My holiday
was ruined - I felt so sad.

In the end, I saw a doctor and I asked the hotel manager if I could change my room
so I could sleep better. Although it was a very stressful start to my holiday, it was
better at the end after I had made the changes. I learnt that next time I should
investigate the area a bit more so I don’t have any problems!
