I'm leaving in 2 months and would like to put my car up for rent while I'm away.

The car will be available for 3 months from Sep 24 to Dec 25. There are 2 MAJOR
things about this car that will eliminate most people from renting it. The first
and most important, is that its a classic 1992 VW Golf with no A/C, no power
steering, and a 4 speed manual tranmission. It is not a car for inexperienced
drivers. I would go as far as saying, you need to have to have driven a stick shift
for many years to handle it. My parents both gave up trying to figure it out. I
will 100% give you a driving test if you want to rent it to ensure you can actually
drive it without destroying the tranmission. I bought the car mainly to grab
groceries, and go to the more inaccessible beaches and cenotes. The number 2 MAJOR
issue is that the book value of the car is much lower than the real value, so I
only have liability insurance which will cover anyone driving it. However because
of this, I will ask for a significant deposit on a sliding scale to ensure that if
the car gets totalled I will receive at least the minimum value of the car back.
I'm being transparent with everything as to eliminate most inquiries from reaching
my inbox. The sliding scale is as follows. I'm quoting the price in USD and you can
calculate the MXN equivalent. For a $3000 deposit you can pay $250 a month. For a
$2000 deposit you can pay $400 for a month and finally for a $1000 deposit you can
pay $650 a month. You will get the entire deposit back at the end of the rental term
with no issues, unless there is loss or damage to the vehicle. The car is
mechanically sound and reliable. I often drive to beaches and pueblos near Merida.
If you haven't been scared away, feel free to message me privately and we can
schedule a test drive, and sort out a contract between us.
