Creatures and species and shit for the comic:
Elder Animals;
Specific individuals of a species that after long time being alive, start to gain
abilities and generally looking different. These differences include; increase in
size, number of eyes and limbs, growing new structures or the reconstruction of
already existing ones.
An Elder Deer will usually be at the level of a demi-god, having aquired
intelligence as well as a lot of power, which it will use most of the time to
protect its species or a territory.
It's not common for these to be worshipped by the humanoid races, be because of
their powers, be because of protection, or simply because it helps them thrive.
They are powerful creatures which is best to not anger, because this will most
likely bring one's death upon themselves, as they will not wait long times to act
upon something they find to be annoying, that may bring harm to their land, or
their species.
Although they may be powerful, they are not immortal, as one can be killed with a
good enough strategy, and after this, its body can be cut and severed to be sold in
markets or to be used in magic and alchemy, unfortunately, there are many who
thrive off the elders' flesh.
Most of the times elders will occupy a territory alone, as other ones are usually
gently pushed off the land to go occupy one of their own, but, in some unsolicited
cases, there have been reportings of elders working alongside one another to secure
their territory, and in most of these cases they most probably come from the same
mother, now, in other EVEN more rare cases, they are not siblings and have by
chance begun to thrive together, perhaps because one does not notice the other, or
because of a bond between the two.
In these cases the two elders can come to mate, and, after an unspecified amount of
time, have progeny, which will most likely come to look as a mix between the
characteristics of elders and the animal species they came from, unfortunately,
they are even expensive than their parents, and black markets most often would give
an eye and a leg for their bodies, well, also because most of the times, that's the
price.
ideas for Humanoid species:
Humans: your good ol' meta humanoid, nothing special, just, very persistent.
Beastlings: humanoids who have adapted to their regions and adopted some
characteristics to better adapt to the territory.
half-beasts: Obtained through the mating of another species with the beastlings,
they can have a variable amount of characteristic between the two species. But, it
is not as most humans go talking about of their adventures in brothels.
The Shadows: Most of these are memories, longing for their place in the world, most
of these have very low intelligence and tend to stay around the place they were
born in, repeating their actions until one day, they just disappear without a
trace.
Some can starts becoming intelligent after a diverse amount of time, although this
level of intelligence may vary, it usually starts from one comparable to a child,
some others although can become even less intelligent and go violent, causing
problems around the place they died or being overly protective of it.
Sometimes they can mutate, similar to the Elder beings, but it can go south as well
for them, as it is mostly random, however these can also cause the creation of
"alpha" Shadows, which usually are able to move other shadows from their
territories without many problems.
less specific ones or that may not enter the comic:
Gaslings: Being made of mostly gaseous materials, which most other humanoids could
recognize as "elementals", and, although this title that has been given them, they
can only shift their own matter, and not outside one, although some of them have
been seen being so experts of manipulating its own that they are able to influence
the rest of the outside one, moving it with their own particles.
Human subspecies: basically still humans, but that have adapted to their enviroment
better than the originals. this includes: Dwarven, who have started become shorter
to dig less for tunnels, stronger bones and more hair to insulate heat from the
ground, and enhanced vision when in lack of natural light, Elven, which have
started to grow taller and more agile due to living in forests, with bigger ears to
hear and catch prey better, generally more , not really any "ancient beings with
god-like magic", and probably more which I will add later.
Deities: These beings are usually originated from other individuals, that have
perhaps learned too much about magic, or simply started existing, as a concept
needed its incorporation, but some of them do not serve a purpose, and simply are,
for no reason, or to try and find another matter to incorporate into their being
and make it their quest to live.
They are not immortal, but, due to their power, are very hard to kill.
