Gulliver's Travels is a fictionalized travel narrative written by Jonathan Swift in the 18th century as

English Captain Lemuel Gulliver narrates his extraordinary experiences voyaging to foreign lands.
Throughout Gulliver's four distinct trips, he gains new perspectives by comparing the cultures he
faces with his own. The story begins with an account of Gulliver's earlier life, including his marriage to
Mrs. Mary Burton and his work as a medical doctor. When Gulliver's business begins to fail, he starts
on a series of sailing trips. On his first voyage, Gulliver's challenges begin when a violent storm sinks
his ship As the only survivor he swims to an island called Lilliput where he passes out from
exhaustion. He wake up to find his armes and legs fastened to the ground by small creatures called
Lilliputians-who are only six inches high They begin attacking him with bows and arrows when he
tries to break free. When Gulliver promises not to harm the Lilliputians, they bring him food and drink
and take him to their capital. There, the emperor consults with his wisest men about their giant
prisoner. They worry Gulliver could escape or cause a famine because of how much food it takes to
satisfy him. After he agrees to assist ( help )them with civil duties and war efforts The lilliputian set
him free and gives him a lot of food Then, Reldresal, a friend and government official, tells Gulliver
about the threat of invasion from those living on the Island of Blefuscu. Years earlier, the Lilliputians
disagreed with them over which end of an egg should be broken The debate led to six rebellions and
thousands of deaths When the Lilliputians and Blefuscudians go to war again, Gulliver proves to be
very useful: Gulliver helped the Lilliputians by dragging the Blefuscudian ships to shore. The emperor
then grants Gulliver the title of "Nardac," the highest honor. The emperor wanted to destroy Blefuscu,
but Gulliver wanted peace. So, an embassy from Blefuscu offered peace, and the emperor had to
accept. A few days later, when a fire starts in the empress's chamber of the palace, Gulliver
extinguishes the fire by urinating on them. But even though he helped, the Lilliputians charged him
with treason for a bunch of things, like peeing on the palace, not wanting to conquer Blefuscu, and
planning to visit there. Although Gulliver respects the Lilliputians laws, which punish dishonesty, he
soon sees the Lilliputians ridiculous and petty creatures they are. He escapes to Blefuscu to avoid
having his eyes put out. There he sails and is picked up by a merchant ship. during his return home,
Gulliver shows off the Lilliputian-sized livestock he has smuggled home in his pockets and makes a
solid profit.

a storm forces Gulliver’s ship off course and he lands on a strange island called Brobdingnag Gulliver’s
second voyage takes him to Brobdingnag (a town of giant people) _ Gulliver was tiny and a farmer
found him and brought him to his house. Gulliver fell asleep, but then he got scared by two big rats.
He fought them with a short sword and killed one of them. The other rat got scared and ran away.
Gulliver was brave and defended himself _after the farmer found Gulliver, he took him to a big
market where Gulliver showed off his skills to the people there. The queen was really impressed by
Gulliver's reputation, so she introduced him to the fancy life at court. But there was this mean dwarf
who was jealous of all the attention Gulliver was getting. The king had a chat with Gulliver about
politics and he wasn't very nice about England's government and history. He basically said that the
English people are not as good as the Brobdingnagians. He actually thinks that the English must be a
race of “odious vermin.” _Gulliver offers to make gunpowder and cannon for the king _ but the king is
shocked by the thought of such weaponry. Gulliver faced a lot of dangers because he was so small.
The ladies at court treated him like a toy, dressing and undressing him. Gulliver thought about how
the Lilliputians must have felt overwhelmed and disgusted by his huge size. After two years there, a
giant eagle grabbed Gulliver and dropped him into the sea. _ Eventually Gulliver is picked up by an
eagle and then rescued at sea by people of his own size.where he is rescued by a passing ship. Once
back in England, Gulliver finds it difficult to adjust to the proportions of his old life again having spent
so much time among the Brobdingnagians
More than two months later, he goes on his third risky journey as a surgeon. But then, the ship gets
attacked by pirates Gulliver ends up floating in a small canoe all alone. after a while, Gulliver arrives at
this little floating island called Laputa. It's filled with some really strange people who call themselves
Laputians. They have a hard time paying attention, so they carry these things called "Flappers" to hit
others during conversations to keep them focused. Gulliver finds Laputa pretty boring because the
guys there are super into math and are way smarter than him. Oh, when Gulliver goes to Balnibarbi,
he finds a place where scientists are always doing these kind of silly experiments. They try to do
things like getting sunlight from cucumbers and turning poop into food again. Gulliver thinks the
professors there are a bit crazy because they taxing people based on how pretty or clever they are.
when he goes to the Island of Glubbdubdrib, he meets the governor who has this incredible power to
bring back the dead. The governor asks Gulliver who he wants to bring back to life, and Gulliver
chooses Alexander the Great. And guess what? The governor actually brings Alexander the Great
back to life just by moving his finger! Alexander tells Gulliver something surprising - that he actually
died from drinking too much, which is different from what Gulliver had learned before. Then, Gulliver
asks the governor to revive Homer, Aristotle, and Descartes so they can all have group conversations
together. Gulliver also meets an immortal race called Struldbrugs. He envies them, but soon finds
they are depressed and jealous of mortals’ ability to die. Gulliver then leaves for Japan where he
encounters meets a closed society, eventually boarding a ship for home, happily returning to his
family once again

After five months, Gulliver leaves his children and pregnant wife to set out on his fourth voyage, this
time as captain of his own ship ,when his men rebellion he ends up stuck on another island He meets
the Houyhnhnms: horses endowed with reason that live in a rational, clean, and simple society.
Gulliver prefers the Houyhnhnms over their naked human neighbors, the Yahoos, who use reason to
gain power and behave like filthy and brutal beasts. Gulliver stays with the Houyhnhnms for several
years. He grows to love them over his own disturbing culture made of people like stupid lawyers and
corrupt medical doctors. Gulliver decides that he never wants to leave the Houyhnhnms, but one day
they tell him he must go. Upon his return to England, Gulliver’s family is thrilled to see him alive.
However, after observing the Yahoos, Gulliver has become thoroughly disgusted with other humans,
including his own family. He buys two horses and spends at least four hours a day in the stables
conversing with them. Eventually, he is able to eat at the same table with his family and teaches them
how to overcome their vices. His only desire now is to help his society become more like the world of
the Houyhnhnms he reluctantly left behind.
