Reflective writing gives you a chance to think critically about any experience which you have

faced during any learning process and to connect those thoughts with personal beliefs. Boud
(1985) describes reflection as ‘an important human activity in which people recapture their
experience, think about it, mull over & evaluate it. Boud says that it is this working with
experience that is important in learning’

In this Module we learned a wide range of skills which enhances our professional, personal
and Academic development.If we reflect on our professional development,it is considered as
a primary mechanism for an individual to improve their learning and skills over time.In order
to be a professional I must adopt plans which should be short,medium and long term but
also be SMART (Specific, Measurable,Achievable, Relevant and Time Bond) to remove the
gaps and to set new goals.The role of self-assessment and assessment skills is a powerful
tool in professional development as it encourages us to own our learning with great
responsibility. It is an ability to build a natural tendency for an individual to check and
enhance the progress of one's own learning skills.Professional development also enhances
career or occupational skills to choose best career but sometime in life a point comes where
one needs to re-evaluate and reflect upon the status of one’s occupation choice, path and
some other factors.For achievement in professional skills I should be good in leadership skills
as it is considered as the backbone.I along leadership skills will be having confidence to lead
whether an individual is qualified or not or having a big bundle of degrees or not.
Today’s World is becoming a competitive place where it is very important for every
professional to learn new skills for development as well as to lead a successful life.According
to my personal view, if a person cannot communicate well then the one can not lead or
perform any difficult task for one’s own development in any profession.Communication skills
are very crucial not only for personal development but also for professional development.
Somehow we can say that good personal skills can lead professional skills.

At a personal level, the idea of personal development involves activities such as improving
self knowledge and awareness, building identity, developing strengths, spiritual
development, enhancing potential, improving health, fulfilling aspirations, enhancing
lifestyles, improving wealth, improving social abilities, and building human capital (Johns,
2005). For personal development I as a learner should focus on current skills and start
working to enhance those skills which then lead to objectives and goals and gives
opportunity to improve quality of life, so that means it is a long term process.For a personal
development I should be a good principal or a judge to check my abilities and enhance
them.The main purpose of personal development skills is also to improve self knowledge
and identity by engaging themselves in personal development activities.Personal
development idea basically starts from self awareness but it is not only based on self
development but it is also meant to develop others as well through different
activities.Emotional self awareness is a topic that causes much excitement to me because of
its impacts (Pavlina, 2008). When you become in a state of self well being and understand
your own feelings and emotions, then things start initiation and it gives impact on your
thoughts according to your daily basis activities, that is considered as a emotional self
awareness.

After reading many studies my reflection reached to a point where I have found that
personal development skills and professional development skills are in-connected as to
achieve a professional development one must have personal skills like communication skills
and time management skills.For personal success one must have personal skills but its not
only benefit for only individual but also for an organisation success.

Academic development are having great impact on students which encourage them to be
an efficient learners and give them confidence to work efficiently.Academic skills includes
critical thinking skill which is very valuable for every individual as well as for me and also
transferable and it will be a good a way to help us to build a career and achieve success.In
workplaces, how we learn and it really help to establish skills and gain information in visual

There are few important things lecturers and faculties should also consider Professional
Development Plan.Many scholars suggests about developing PDP, and for that institutions
should consider firstly the purpose of it. Goals of PDP should be discussed from students , on
the far side encouraging individuals to involve themselves in the process.Personal
Development Plan must be meaningful and involve materials which can be used to connect
to the world outside.

Computers are considered mandatory power tools which not only enhances the skills and
efficiency of work, but helps in undertaking tasks within minimal time. A professional should
be computer literate and should have skills to undertake tasks smartly using technological
means. We should have organised way to assess Information technology hardware and
software for better interest of profession. Professional should have good essay writing skills
in order to explain the matter in best possible manner. Professionalism demands good
interpersonal skills and motivation. These two are the hallmark for smooth and efficient
work. But efficiency doesn’t mean trying to do too much at once, rather in order to gain
much in haste would waste more energies and would prove unfruitful. Uncertainness are
part of every profession, managing uncertainness is difficult and challenging task.
Professionals are meant to work on factor of safety, meaning thereby that they keep
uncertainty in mind in order to achieve objective safely. Moreover, managing multifarious
aspects demand multitasking and keen insight to achieve the target. Too much single
mindedness can lead to problems, mostly of grave nature. Professionals need a keen insight
to every problem, thereby giving a bird’s eye view to every problem.
Personal Development Plan not only involve academic learning but it is an efficient plan
which describes the entire personality.We should have a best personal communication skills
which will enhance and becomes benefit for personal growth and career growth.we should
pay attentions towards thoughts,feelings,record evidences which will support together with
the conversation of tutor as well as with our action plan.To become a good leader we should
encourage our fellows and inspire them to achieve their required goals .
Hands-on experiences gaining are important factors and one of the determinant of success.I
am fully determined to work in my free time to enhance my experiences and give my best in
the field to assist the material learned in class.Overall I have learned many new concepts
which helps me in recognising my own potentials which I have gained through learning.In
my point of view, as I have done it so I suggest others as well to engage yourself other than
class activities to perform much better than this and exceptionally very well.There is always
a planing for everything ,If not planning then one cannot achieve goals.Planning gives me a
chance to visualizes what is to be achieved and decision-making comes how to achieve it.
