1. Avoid social media:

Social media is a very bad distractions, people communicate through social media

platforms more than email or even talking on the phone. What mainly causes the

distractions are the notifications, cause when the notifications comes in the student just

think that it’s going to take a minute but you end up using an hour or more which could have

added to the study time.

2. Stay away from phone:

Education is a priority and to gain it, you need to know when to drop your phone and

read. It is better to put the phone on silent or better still shut your phone off so you don’t

get tempted to check your notification or anything.

3. Get the help of an app or reduce your screen time:

Family link is an app that helps put a specific amount of time on one’s phone which

makes it easier for the students to read without any distractions.

4. Find a good studying spot:

This is one of the most important insights cause the student needs to be in an

environment with little to no distractions (an environment that will aid in keeping the

students focused on assignments. The library has always been a reliable place to get some

real academic work done. Establish rules when you are in your study zone.

5. Organize lecture notes:

Transcribing lecture notes can make your notes longer and un- understandable. The

best way to understand is to make a note of your own from what the lecturer has said and

repeat it again that way it is fresh in mind and the note is more legible and review friendly.

6. Take a break and take care of yourself:


University is hard work, and a break is needed. Reading till the early morning to

complete an assignment might be great for that but it’s not for the students or any academic

courses. Students must take care of themselves in order to give your academic career the

attention it deserves.

7. Join or create a study group:

Joining or creating a study group isn’t just because misery loves company. It’s about

teamwork. Guaranteed someone in your study group can help you though a certain

assignment you’re struggling with and you will be able to do the same. It’s all about helping

each other succeed.

8. Understand your learning style:

It’s important to know there are any different styles of learning and each person will

retain information better in different ways. Think about which style of learning works best

for you and it will help you determine how to study, where to study and other important

factors like what to study like what study aid you should use and be aware of , and knowing

what things may distract you while you are trying to study.

9. Make study time a part of your daily routine:

Consistency is key and once you start getting into good study habits, so make it a

routine that you will be able to maintain it throughout the school year, make studying

priority and place these sessions when you’re at your peak performance times to make them

extra effective.

10. Leave time for the last-minute review:

This is a technique that most students apply as one study habit. That’s just impossible

for the amount of college work you will be taking on, but it can work quite well as a last-

minute review, only if you have good notes. If you’re finding that you are getting stressed

out then reflect back on your study schedule and priorities.

It also improves brain function, can help the student focus and also eases the pain. Learn

Attitude toward studying may influence the outcome. It’s not just about thinking

Not having the right materials can make studying be a guessing game and no longer be a

specific and focused activity. Having the right study materials can save you time, and could

make your efforts more effective.

15. Avoiding certain study habits:

It’s helpful to know which habits cam interfere with your progress. Procrastination

often leads to rushed and sloppy work. It also means you won’t have enough time to

properly prepare for tests. Cramming or last-minute studying the night before an exam isn’t

as effective for transferring learned material to long- term memory.
