The University invites applications from eligible candidates on prescribed application format for filling- up
following Government approved vacant posts through direct recruitment. The Application Format can be downloaded
from University’s website (www.uuhf.ac.in). Duly filled applications along with recent passport size self-attested
photograph, supporting enclosures (self-attested copies of degree certificates/ mark sheets/ experience certificates,
reprints of important publications, etc.) and Application Fee of Rs. 1200/- (Rs. 600/- for SC/ST candidates) through
Demand Draft drawn in favour of Comptroller, Uttarakhand University of Horticulture & Forestry payable at Punjab

2. For Ex-Serviceman- Once an ex-serviceman has joined the Government job on civil side after availing of the benefits
given to him as an ex-serviceman for his re-employment, his ex-serviceman status for the purpose of re –employment in
Government would cease.
3. *The posts given under College of Horticulture and College of Hill Agriculture have been sanctioned by the State
Government under Plan Budget. Thus, continuation of the services on these posts is subject to the continuation of these
posts by the State Government. However, these posts are likely to be continued.
4. For Horizontal Reservation: If no candidates is available or not found suitable against the post earmarked under horizontal
reservation i.e. Uttarakhand Women and Orphan, then the post shall be filled through suitable candidate of the original
category.
Note:
Please note that all the posts mentioned in the advertisement had also been advertised earlier vide
advertisement no. UUHF/DT/F.No. 01/01 of 2023 dated 14-08-2023. These posts are being re-
advertised. The applicants for the above-mentioned posts, who had applied earlier, in response to
advertisement no. UUHF/DT/F.No. 01/01 of 2023 dated 14-08-2023 required to send their consent
for consideration with updated biodata and self assessed score sheet as per format provided with
this advertisement (Appendix II, Table 2 for Professor/Associate Professor and Appendix II, Table
3A for Assistant Professor). The candidates who had applied earlier need not to pay the prescribed
fee again.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR THE POSTS OF
JOINT DIRECTOR IN THE PAY MATRIX LEVEL-14 (Rs. 1,44,200 to 2,18,200)

Essential Qualification:
a. The incumbent should have Doctorate degree in Horticulture/ Forestry with consistently good academic
record.
b. The incumbent should have 15 years of teaching (at UG/PG level)/ research/ extension experience in a
substantial capacity and should be working as a Professor or equivalent in the AGP of Rs. 10000/- in
Central/State Govt. University/ Educational/ Research Institution.
c. Evidence of contribution of Research/Teaching/Extension as supported by published work/innovations.
Experience in Planning/ Execution/ Coordination of Research and/or Extension Programme/ Activities in
Forestry/ Horticulture disciplines.
Desirable:
a) Research experience in temperate Horticulture/ Forestry.
b) Experience of handling externally funded research projects as P.I/ Extension projects.

Job Profile:
The incumbent of the post shall be responsible for coordinating research/extension activities of the University
including externally funded research/ extension projects. The incumbent shall be required to plan, organize and
monitor the extension programmes of the University. The incumbent shall also be responsible for coordinating with
funding organizations/State functionaries.

Eligibility:
1. Officers/Faculty working in regular service in UGC recognized Universities/ Research Institutions/ Statutory
and Autonomous organizations and the Department of Central/State Govt./ Union Territories/ Public Sector
undertakings shall be eligible to apply for the above mentioned post.
2. Superannuation age in the University is 65 years.
3. The posts are tenurial for a period of 03 years.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR THE POST OF


PROFESSOR IN THE PAY MATRIX LEVEL-14 (Rs. 1,44,200 to 2,18,200)
(As per UGC Regulation, July, 2018)
Essential Qualification:
A.
i) An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, and published work of high
quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with, a minimum of 10 research publications
in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 120 as per the criteria given in Appendix
II, Table 2 of UGC Regulation 2018.
ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant Professor/Associate
Professor/Professor, and / or research experience at equivalent level at the University/National Level Institutions
with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidate.
OR
B. An outstanding professional, having a Ph.D. degree in the relevant/allied/applied disciplines, from any academic
institutions (not included in A above) / industry, who has made significant contribution to the knowledge in the
concerned/allied/relevant discipline, supported by documentary evidence provided he/she has ten years’ experience.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR THE POST OF


ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN THE PAY MATRIX LEVEL-13A (Rs. 1,31,400 to 2,17,100)
(As per UGC Regulation, July, 2018)
Essential Qualification:
i) A good academic record, with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.
ii) A Master‘s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is
followed).
iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or research in an academic/research position equivalent
to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry with a minimum
of seven publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of Seventy five (75) as
per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Regulation 2018.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR THE POST OF


ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN THE PAY MATRIX LEVEL-10 (Rs. 57,700 to 1,82,400)
(As per UGC Regulation, July, 2018)
Essential Qualification:
A.
i) A Master‘s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is
followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an
accredited foreign university.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET)
conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have
been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and
Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time
as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET : Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme
prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of
the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of
NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in
Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions :-
a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
d) The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a
refereed journal;
e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D work in conferences/seminars
sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSR/ CSIR or any similar agency.

Note: The fulfilment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the
University concerned.
Note: NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET
is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.
OR
B. The Ph.D degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World
University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher
Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong
University (Shanghai).
Note: The Candidate has to fill the self assessed score as specified in Appendix-II Table 3A. The Academic score as
specified in Appendix II (Table 3A) shall be considered for short-listing of the candidates for interview only, and
the selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR THE POST OF


UNIVERSITY ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN LEVEL-10 (Rs. 57,700 to 1,82,400)
(As per UGC Regulation, July, 2018)
Essential Qualification:
i) A Master‘s Degree in Library Science, Information Science or Documentation Science or an equivalent
professional degree, with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point –scale, wherever the grading system
is followed)
ii) A consistently good academic record, with knowledge of computerization of a library.
iii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET)
conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET or who are or have been
awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and
Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time
as the case may be: Provided that the, candidates registered for the Ph.D. degree prior to July 11, 2009, shall be
governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances / Bye-laws / Regulations of the Institution awarding the
degree, and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and
appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges / Institutions subject to the

Important Information for Applicants
1. The process of recruitment and appointment on the posts advertised shall be as prescribed under the Statutes and
Service Rules of the University.
2. Application Fee as prescribed should be enclosed with the Application Form. Application Forms received without
the prescribed Fee shall not be entertained. Fee once paid will not be refunded in any case.
3. Applications, if not on prescribed format or incomplete or received after due date will not be considered. The
University shall not be responsible for postal delay, if any.
4. Self attested photocopy of supporting documents pertaining to age, educational qualifications, employment record,
caste certificate (if applicable) etc should accompany the Application Form. However, original certificates should be
produced at the time of interview for verification.
5. In-service candidates should send their application through proper channel. However, advance copy along with
Application Fee should reach at the following postal address:-

6. Envelope containing application should be superscripted as “Application for the post of (Name of Post &
Discipline) for (Name of the College)’’.
7. No T.A./D.A. will be paid to the candidates called for interview/test.
8. The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates
to be called for interview. Where the number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large and it
may not be convenient or possible to interview all the candidates, the University, at its discretion, may screen the
applications and shortlist the candidates on the basis of qualifications, experience, publications etc to be called for the
interview. For this purpose, the University may constitute a screening committee to scrutinize the applications to
short list the candidates. University may also hold written/ qualifying examination for short listing the candidates for
interview.
9. The process of selection may include a presentation/ written test/ interview or a combination of any or all. The topic
for presentation of maximum 5 minutes duration may be related to the subject concerned, and may be chosen by the
candidate.

10. Canvassing in any form may lead to cancellation of candidature.


11. Qualifications/ experiences etc. shall be reckoned as on last date of submission of applications.
12. If at any time even after the selection and the appointment of the candidate or during the tenure of his/ her service, it
is found/ detected that any document/ information submitted by the candidate is incorrect or that the candidate has
concealed/ suppressed any information, then appropriate action shall be taken against him/ her as per rules which
may even lead to termination of his/ her candidature/services.
13. The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all the posts advertised without giving any reasons
thereof.

The Research score for research papers would be augmented as follows:


Peer-Reviewed or UGC-listed Journals (Impact factor to be determined as per Thomson Reuters list):
i) Paper in refereed journals without impact factor - 05 Points
ii) Paper with impact factor less than 1 - 10 Points
iii) Paper with impact factor between 1 and 2 - 15 Points
iv) Paper with impact factor between 2 and 5 - 20 Points
v) Paper with impact factor between 5 and 10 - 25 Points
vi) Paper with impact factor >10 - 30 Points
(a) Two authors: 70% of total value of publication for each author.
(b) More than two authors: 70% of total value of publication for the First/Principal/ Corresponding author and 30%
of total value of publication for each of the joint authors.

Joint Projects: Principal Investigator and Co-investigator would get 50% each.
Note:
• Paper presented if part of edited book or proceeding then it can be claimed only once.
• For joint supervision of research students, the formula shall be 70% of the total score for Supervisor and Co-
supervisor. Supervisor and Co-supervisor, both shall get 7 marks each.
• *For the purpose of calculating research score of the teacher, the combined research score from the categories of
5(b). Policy Document and 6. Invited lectures/Resource Person/Paper presentation shall have an upper capping
of thirty percent of the total research score of the teacher concerned.
• The research score shall be from the minimum of three categories out of six categories.
