Sump pit 01
**-Total no. of Garage drains in 2 Basements draining to this Sump pit = 5

**-Total no. of Floor drains in 2 Basements draining to this Sump pit = 2

-Total no. of Trench drains in 2 basements draining to this sump pit = 2 5

-Total no. of AC and firefighting drain in 2 basements draining to this sump pit = 5 5

- DFU (Drainage fixture unit) for Floor Drain = 2

- Assume DFU (Drainage fixture unit) for Trench drain & garage drain = 4 4

-Assume DFU (Drainage fixture unit) for AC drain & Firefighting drain = 1 1

-Total DFU (drainage fixture unit) = 2X2 + 7x4 +5x1 = 37

2 fd * 2 DFU + ( TD 2+GD 5) *4DFU + 5 AC&FFS *1 =37

5*4 + 5*1 =25

- Drainage discharge according to tables and demand load curves = 25 gpm

- Submersible pump design flow = 60 gpm

-Accordingly, The needed flow = 60 gpm = 0.227 m3/min

- Operation rate of pump 6 times per hour.

-Operation time = 5 min.

-Effective volume = flow x operation time = 0.227 x 5 = 1.135 m3

- Area of Sump Pit = 2 X 2= 4 m2

-Effective height = volume /area = 1.135/4 = 0.28 m

Total Pit height include: -

-Effective height = 0.3 m

- Height of wet volume (Water fixed in sump pit bottom) = 0.25 m

- Invert level of the incoming pipe based on the longest pipe run with slope = 0.7m
Total Sump pit Height = 0.3 + 0.25 + 0.7 + 0.5 = 1.75 m
- Height between the bottom of lowest drainage pipe & Switch on level = 0.5
