Responsibilities of Applicants1
The Bank does not issue savings passbook for the account
The initial deposit to this account shall be made within 30 days from account opening
Deposits will be accepted using either of or a combination of cash deposit; fund transfer
using SWIFT or Money Transfer agents or cheque deposit.
The applicant shall never finance the monthly savings and any loan repayment with the
Bank from unlawful activities
The Ethiopian Citizen or Origin living in Foreign Land /ECOLFL/ Saving Account is
local currency account to which deposits shall be made in foreign currency (USD,GBP or
EUR)
Withdrawals from this account are permissible only in local currency. However, the
applicant shall continue the monthly deposit until the required equity contribution is
fulfilled.
This account will bear annual interest equivalent to the prevailing NBE set savings
interest rate and interest shall be paid at the end of month.
The Bank reserves the right to close the account or disqualify the applicant from Diaspora
Mortgage Loan eligibility if there is local currency credit transaction to the account.
