PM Modi Inaugurates Aircraft Complex For Manufacture

Of C-295 Military Aircraft

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez jointly
inaugurated the Tata Aircraft Complex in Vadodara for manufacture of C-295
military aircraft.
 The plant has been set up by Tata Advanced Systems in collaboration with Airbus
Spain.
 The facility has been built at the Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) campus.
 There are a total of 56 aircraft under the C-295 program, of which 16 are being
delivered directly by Airbus from Spain and the remaining 40 are to be built in India.

Navy Chief Dinesh Tripathi Launches Swavlamban 2024

Exhibition To Promote Indigenization
 The 3rd edition of the Indian Navy’s Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Seminar,
Swavlamban 2024, was inaugurated by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K
Tripathi in New Delhi, with 115 stalls showcasing innovations in areas like AI,
autonomous systems, and quantum technology.
 Swavlamban 2024 encourages innovation through the Innovations for Defence
Excellence (iDEX) initiative, with the Indian Navy receiving over 2,000 proposals
from Indian industry, converting them into 155 prototype challenges and collaborating
with over 200 MSMEs and startups.

Initiative
 The Indian government has launched a Weather Forecasting initiative at the Gram
Panchayat level in New Delhi, aimed at enhancing disaster preparedness and
empowering rural communities, particularly farmers.
 This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Panchayati Raj,
Ministry of Earth Sciences, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

IndiaAI And Meta Establish Srijan Center For Generative

AI At IIT Jodhpur

 IndiaAI and Meta have partnered to launch the Center for Generative AI, Srijan at
IIT Jodhpur.
 Additionally, they have introduced the YuvAi Initiative for Skilling and Capacity
Building, in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education
(AICTE), to promote open-source AI development in India.
 This collaboration aims to advance research, skill development, and fostering
innovation in AI to support India's vision of tech sovereignty.

India Ranks 79th In World Justice Project’s Rule Of Law

Index 2023
 The World Justice Project (WJP) Rule of Law Index 2023 reveals that India ranks
79th out of 142 countries, reflecting a continuing decline in the rule of law globally.
 This year’s Index shows a decline in the rule of law in 59% of the countries surveyed,
marking the sixth consecutive year of global declines since 2016.
 Notably, India has experienced a drop in several key areas, particularly in the
Fundamental Rights factor, where its score fell from 0.50 in 2022 to 0.49 in 2023.
