1. Interview a professional in any industry about the impacts of computing.
Jolina P. Becerro – Edman Machtools Inc.
Position: Office Staff/Stockholder
2. Base your questions on any four (4) of the following pointers:
Specific computing devices they use
Difficulties in using a computing device
Benefits of using computing devices
Status of their company if computing devices do not exist
3. Submit a transcript of the interview, including the questions and answers.
Specific computing devices they use
- Computer (windows 11)
Software used: Outlook, Microsoft word, Excel
Difficulties in using a computing device
- At first, it was difficult to use Outlook because the layout is more
different compared to Gmail. For example, when I sent an email to
a supplier or customer and I just made a mistake, I couldn’t delete
it right away. You must go through the recall process, and there are
so many steps in that process. Most of my struggles are with email.
Plus, there’s a lag on the computer since the company only provide
some low specs computer. We also find it hard to use more
complex systems and keep our data secure. On top of that,
frequent software updates can be confusing and frustrating. All of
these things make using the computer more difficult than it should
be. Sometimes it slows down our work and causes delays,
especially when we need to learn new tools or fix issues with the
current ones.
Benefits of using computing devices
- It helps to improve my skills. I learn a lot from it, and over time I
can see my improvements. The mistakes that I made before, it
won’t repeat again. The computer and the software that I use
makes sharing information and knowledge much faster which it is
useful. And with that we can also analyze data more easily which
benefits both personal and professional activities; it makes things a
lot more efficient.
Status of their company if computing devices do not exist
- It would be a challenge to be honest. We just have to find
alternatives which I think it wouldn’t be efficient as it is now. Things
could work, but it would be much slower. Communications,
especially through email will be a mess. For example, sending
emails through Yahoo can be tricky; sometimes emails don’t get
received or end up in spam, and they could even be mistaken for
viruses. The workflow would be chaotic without computers, and it
would be so hard to keep up with the customer demands.
4. Summarize the interview in a detailed 10-sentence essay highlighting the
impact of computing in their industry using the pointers above.
Working on a field with technology can be challenging because it requires
adapting skills for the new tools and systems. Dealing with the issue with emails
such as Outlook; it must be very exhaustive to think how you must go through
many stuffs after making a small mistake. The company having a low-specs
computer should have resolve this issue because it would only make the worker
having a hard time to do their own work which it mostly makes their work
slowdown. On top of that, dealing with complex systems and ensuring data security
adds extra pressure. Learning new tools or troubleshooting existing ones takes time
and can delay tasks, making it harder to stay on track with daily work. All of these
issues can make the job more stressful than it should be.
However, there are clear benefits on working with technology as what she said.
Using computers can also help to improve their skills overtime. They learn a lot and
they also avoid the repeating past mistakes. It also makes the sharing information
faster and analyzing data much easier. Without the computing devices, everything
would be much slower and more chaotic. The technology makes a huge difference
in productivity, communication and to our daily lives.
In the end, even though working with technology can be tough, the benefits are
much greater. Using these tools helps us handle problems and changes the way we
work and live for the better. It makes tasks easier and helps us get more done.
