SUMMARY: Introduction and definition of gestational diabetes mellitus, risks of getting
GDM among antenatal mothers, management of GDM, prevention of GDM, diet plan and
management of GDM.
CONCLUSION: Gestational Diabetes Mellitus is the most common medical and metabolic
complication seen in pregnancy. Women who are at high risk to develop Gestational Diabetes
Mellitus should be appropriately screened to reduce maternal and fetal morbidity.
