Banishing Ritual for Advanced Protection
One of the most basic and useful ceremonial rituals of magick is the
banishing ritual. This is also referred to as the lesser ritual of the pentagram
or LRP. The pentagram or pentacle is a five-pointed star with the point up.
The banishing ritual is considered by many to be a basic preliminary
to any other magickal work. This is because it creates a protective psychic
barrier against malevolent forces. Not only does this ritual permit the entry
of desired constructive forces…it powerfully prevents the various negative
influences from entering.
When you perform a banishing ritual, you will use a magical
implement or "weapon," such as a ceremonial knife, wand, dagger, or sword
in order to draw the pentagrams in the air at each of the cardinal points or
directions. As you perform this ritual, you will be chanting or vibrating
Hebrew names of God such as Yhvh, El, Elah, Eloah, or Hakadosh.
Step-by-Step Instructions
First you need to know the exact positions for the implementation of
this ritual. The easiest method is to use these approximate points on a round
clock face…
1. Begin at the 7:30 position
2. Point to the 12 o'clock position
3. Point to the 4:30 position
4. Point to the 10:30 position
5. Point to the 2:30 position
6. Return to the 7:30 position
Holding your magical weapon, face east and extend your arm straight
out in front of you. You will use the full sweep of your arm to draw the
pentagram in the air.
Follow the description above by beginning at the lower left and
sweeping your magical weapon up toward the right. Remember to keep
your arm straight…do not bend your arm at the wrist or elbow.
As you continue, visualize the lines and then eventually the star as
vibrant white, floating in the space before you. You are projecting energy
when you do this, and the result will be a gleaming five-pointed star floating
in the east.
You must visualize the star as vividly as you can. Then you will
energize if further by piercing the center of it with your magical weapon and
vibrating…speaking slowing in a slightly lower than normal pitch…"Yod-
He-Vau-He," one of the Hebrew names for God.
Next, turn slowly to the next cardinal point in sequence. Keeping
your arm continuously extended in front of you, visualize a white line
connecting around to the cardinal point. Trace a similar pentagram for each
directional point and chant or vibrant the following…
South – Adonai
West – Eh-Ei-He
North -- Agla
Now complete the white line drawn back to the center of the eastern
pentagram. The cardinal points must be followed in clockwise order, and
the pentagram must be drawn in the manner illustrated. This is crucial
because to do otherwise would change the function of the ritual.
The result of this ritual will be a large, bright white pentagram you
will visualize hanging in mid-air at each of the four directions, all tied
together by a bright white line.
This ritual can be used for protecting whatever or whomever you
choose. For example, you could visualize the pentagrams moving out to the
circumference of your home, which would protect your home and all within.
A Simplified Version
A shortened procedure can also be extremely effective. This is done
by tracing the pentagram only once overhead and then energizing it by
vibrating one of the four Hebrew names for God, as previously
mentioned…such as Eh-Ei-He. Naturally, the effects derived from the full
version of the ritual are more complete, but this shortened, "time-saving"
method will help.
Benefits of the Banishing Ritual
One of the primary uses of this ritual is to ward off psychic attack. A
psychic attack is when another is consciously or unconsciously attempting to
harm you by causing you to experience sickness, accidents, bad dreams, or
emotional distress, or to force you to do something against your will.
Fortunately, this doesn't happen very often, largely because those who
possess this power are well aware of the effects of karma. So, the world of
the magician is fairly safe for the pure of heart.
Psychic attack usually depends upon vulnerabilities. Simply stated...if
you are not vulnerable, you are safe. Therefore, unification with the true
will is your greatest protection.
Remember that the use of the banishing ritual is never hurtful. You
can even use this ritual to drive out your negative aspects.
Using Magick for Advanced Protection
You can use these techniques to keep you, your loved ones, and your
home safe and secure. The simple magickal technique consists of three
steps, and must be done together.
To begin this process, relax completely and empty your mind of all
thoughts. Avoid any distractions by closing your door and turning off any
televisions within earshot.
Slow down your breathing and allow your body to become limp,
actually seeing your body dropping with each breath you take. When you
are in the alpha state, you will then focus on your intentions.
This is where you will begin to use creative visualization to picture in
your mind exactly what you are striving for…such as keeping yourself safe.
Imagine a white light entering your head and traveling through your
body…then coming out and completely surrounding you with a warm,
comforting glow.
It's important that you actually feel the warmth emitting from your
white light. You must focus on being calm and serene as the white light
begins to protect you from harm or negative energy that someone might be
sending you.
You can do this same exercise to protect your home, keeping it safe
from the malevolence and evil that exists in the world today. The white light
you use has no limit as to what it is capable of surrounding.
Naturally, you can use this magickal spell to protect your loved ones,
such as your wife or husband and your children. See them going through a
normal day and watch them being kept from any harm that might come to
them. It's extremely important you feel the power you have and to
experience the wonderful feeling of knowing that you are keeping your
family and friends safe and sound.
You can also use these techniques on your pets by visualizing them
happy and safe, avoiding any accidents that might come their way, such as
being hit by an automobile or even being stolen from your yard! I use these
methods on my own dogs.
While you are focusing and visualizing the positive energy protecting
you, your loved ones, your pets, and any of your possessions, remember to
state constructive and beneficial affirmations that coincide with who or what
you are wrapping your magickal techniques around.
Keep your statements in the present tense, such as, "I now create the
magic to protect my children constantly," or, "I place the white light around
my home to keep it safe and secure." These are only suggestions…you can
come up with your own customized statements.
