HOLIDAYS’ HOMEWORK – (2024-2025)

CLASS-V

Dear Student,
Summer Holidays’ Homework is an initiative to inculcate innovativeness,
creativity and interest in the tasks assigned to you. It not only enables you
to recapitulate what is taught, but also helps you to connect yourself with
the process of learning. To enjoy this process, one has to work with zeal,
complete independence and all the positivity.
The process of learning is a mere waste if it does not make your
foundation strong. For your foundation to be strong, your parents and
teachers keep working tirelessly. They try to develop an urge in you, the
urge to do well in all spheres and succeed in life. They want you to be a
good successful human being who is making himself better and the best.
To ignite that urge in you, your teachers have designed the first part of the
Home Work that develops sensitivity in you and polishes your values and
life skills.
Now every days you have to work on theme and reinforce it on daily basis.
For the coming weeks, let's follow:
1. 'Greet and Respect Elders'- every morning 7 am – 8 am

2. 'Cleaning up the House -Helping Parents with Daily Chores'-

every morning 9 am – 10 am
3. 'Exercise Everyday'- every day 8 am – 9 am

4. 'Pay Gratitude' – every day

5. 'Story Time with Parents' – every day at bed time 9 pm – 10 pm )

LET US DEVELOP EMOTIONAL AND ETHICAL RIGHTEOUSNESS

Bihar is a state of India famous for its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.
It also has a rich collection of folk tales. Here is an extract from one such folk
tale ‘Bawan Ganga. Pick out at least five nouns, pronouns and adjectives from
it and put them in the cloud bubbles, under the correct headers. Once there
was a poor low-caste man who eked out his living by hiring himself out as a
field labourer and by rearing pigs. The man had a daughter whose duty was
to drive pigs to the field. While grazing pigs one day on the full moon of an
important festival, the girl saw a young Brahmin hurrying by. She was curious
why he was almost running and asked him the reason. The Brahmin replied
that he wanted to reach the river Ganges and bathe at the time of the full moon.
The girl smiled and told him that he could not possibly reach the river Ganges
in time, as the river was far away, but that she could solve his problem. The
Brahmin wanted to know what she had in mind. The girl pointed to a dirty
pool where her pigs were wallowing and told him that if he had real faith in
his heart and if he had complete trust in her, he should dip into the pool, and
she would bring about the exact auspicious moment of the full moon, and he,
in turn, would earn all the merit of bathing in the Ganges. The Brahmin dived
into the pool and found the bottom full of jewels and brought out a handful of
them. The girl wanted him to dive again and he did so once more. This time
he found mud at the bottom. The girl then told him that he had got the reward
he deserved for the implicit faith in his mind and his confidence in her. Hunt
for more such folktales of Bihar and read them during your holidays.
