Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C

Protects and colours your wood in one single layer

Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C is a VOC-free hardwax oil of the newest generation which colours
and protects your wood in one single layer. It’s perfectly suitable for high traffic zones and can
be applied to all interior wood surfaces (furniture, countertops, tabletops, stairs, walls, floors,
etc.), almost all wood types and wood species (solid wood, veneer, MDF, etc.). The combination
of the oil (A) and the accelerator (B) guarantees a quick curing for optimal protection.

Can also be applied as renovation and maintenance, on surfaces which have already been
treated with Rubio Monocoat oil.

APPLICATION INFORMATION

› Instructions Furniture, stairs & countertops

STEP 1 Sand the surface scratch-free. Finish with screening net 100 to 150, depending on the sanding method used.
STEP 2 Vacuum thoroughly, eliminate remains of dust with Rubio Monocoat Cleaner and wait until the surface is completely dry
(check the technical datasheet of Rubio Monocoat Cleaner before use).
STEP 3 Stir the A component until a homogenous mixture is obtained. Carefully mix the two components (1 to 2 minutes) with a
ratio of appr. 3 units A to 1 unit B.
STEP 4 Spread out a small quantity of Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C using a beige/red Rubio Monocoat Scrubby pad or hand sander
with a small beige 5.9 inch Rubio Monocoat pad (you can also use the Rubio Monocoat Mouse Pad for smaller objects and
corners).

*Spatula method: spread out with a stainless spatula Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C in zones which can be finished in maximum
30 minutes (including step 5).
*For ceilings and walls you can use our Rubio Monocoat Brush and Rubio Monocoat beige scrubby pad to spread out the oil.

STEP 5 Let absorb during a few minutes. Wipe away all excess oil with a cloth or a hand sander with a small white 5.9 inch Rubio
Monocoat pad. Finish off with a cloth within max. 30 minutes. The surface should feel non-sticky!

› Instructions floors
STEP 1 Sand the surface scratch-free. Finish with screening net 100.
STEP 2 Vacuum thoroughly, eliminate remains of dust with Rubio Monocoat Cleaner and wait until the surface is completely dry
(check the technical datasheet of Rubio Monocoat Cleaner before use).
STEP 3 Stir the A component until a homogenous mixture is obtained. Carefully mix the two components (1 to 2 minutes) with a
ratio of appr. 3 units A to 1 unit B.
STEP 4 Work in zones of 5-10 m². Start each zones by treating the borders with a beige or red Rubio Monocoat Scrubby pad. Then
apply every other 0,5 meter a small quantity of Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C using a brush. Spread out plankwise (per plank?)
using a polishing machine with a beige or red 16 inch Rubio Monocoat pad.

*Spatula method: spread out with a stainless spatula Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C in zones which can be finished in maximum
30 minutes (including step 5 and 6).

STEP 5 Thoroughly remove all excess oil with a cloth or a polishing machine with a white 16 inch Rubio Monocoat pad. The surface
should feel non-sticky!
STEP 6 After having finished all the zones, pass again with a new white Rubio Monocoat pad. Now the surface should feel non-
sticky.

› Instructions Repair and renovation

If the Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C treated surface shows much wear and tear, or needs a colour repair, maintain with Rubio Monocoat
Oil Plus 2C in the original colour.
STEP 1 Use Rubio Monocoat Deep Cleaner to clean the wooden surface until spot free. If there are still some stains, repeat the
cleaning process or use one of our spot removers (Rubio Monocoat Grease Remover, Rubio Monocoat Limespot Remover
or Rubio Monocoat Tannin Remover). Please check the technical datasheet before use.

*If the wooden object is too much damaged or neglected, you will first need to polish the surface with the same screening
grit as you initially finished your wooden object with. Please consult your professional if necessary.

STEP 2 Remove the dissolved dirt by using a damp cloth or a mop and clear water and allow the surface to dry well (+/- 30 minutes
at a temperature of 20°C and in a well-ventilated room).
STEP 3 Stir the A component until a homogenous mixture is obtained. Carefully mix the two components (1 to 2 minutes) with a
ratio of appr. 3 units A to 1 unit B.
STEP 4 Spread out a small quantity of Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C using a beige/red Rubio Monocoat Scrubby pad or hand sander
with a small beige 5.9 inch Rubio Monocoat pad (you can also use the Rubio Monocoat Mouse Pad for smaller objects and
corners).
STEP 5 Let absorb during a few minutes. Wipe away all excess oil with a cloth or a hand sander with a white Rubio Monocoat pad.
Finish off with a cloth within max. 30 minutes. The surface should feel non-sticky!

› Tips & tricks:

· The product may NOT be diluted!
· Stir the product well before application.
· When using several containers at one site, it is required to mix them for an even result.
· Please consult your distributor if you want to use the A component without the B component (accelerator).
· After application, the surface may appear a bit glossy. This will disappear after cleaning 2-3 times with Rubio Monocoat Universal
Soap or Rubio Monocoat Surface Care.
· If you want a more intense colour, use Rubio Monocoat WoodPrep instead of Rubio Monocoat Cleaner. For more info please consult
the technical datasheet of Rubio Monocoat WoodPrep.
· For greasy wood species (e.g. teak, iroko, kambala, wengé, eucalyptus, merbau, afzelia, afrormosia, etc.), use Rubio Monocoat Deep
Cleaner instead of Rubio Monocoat Cleaner. For more info please consult the technical datasheet of Rubio Monocoat Deep Cleaner.
· Rubio Monocoat Tannin Primer can be used before applying Rubio Monocoat Oil 2C for horizontal surfaces often subjected to liquids,
such as worktops or bathroom furniture. For more info please consult the technical datasheet of Rubio Monocoat Tannin Primer.
· The smoother the surface is, the less oil and pigments will penetrate in the wood resulting in a less coloured surface.
· Our oils are developed with environmentally friendly ingredients. However, some people can be allergic to certain elements.
Therefore, we advise wearing gloves to protect your skin while applicating the A+B component.

ATTENTION
Cloths, saturated with oil, may spontaneously combust. After usage, they need to be soaked in water before disposal.
