1. Look at the walls of the classroom. What are posted on the walls? What heroes, religious
figures, lessons, visual aids, announcements, do you see posted?
Based on my observations in the classrooms I've been in, some of them have an
image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the center above the blackboard. In other
classrooms, there is a poster about the PTA on the wall. Some classrooms have a
bulletin board, but no announcements are posted. There are also classrooms where
the class schedule is attached directly to the blackboard on a piece of bond paper.
2. Examine how the pieces of furniture are arranged. Where is the teacher’s table located?
How are the tables and chairs /desk arranged?
In my observation of the various classrooms, I noticed that some rooms were
well-organized, with items like desks, lockers, bookshelves, broom holders, and
others properly arranged. However, there were also rooms where the furniture was
not as well-arranged. The teachers table were positioned, one at the front and the
other at the back. The students' chairs were arranged in rows, while others were
grouped around a large table with their monoblack chairs.
3. What are learning materials/equipment are present?
In my observation of each classroom, the teaching and learning materials they use
include a television, which teachers can use to present their PowerPoint
presentations. They also have a blackboard where teachers can write, allowing
students to follow along.
4. Observe the students. How many are occupying one room?
As I observed the classroom, I noticed that each room has more than 45 students.
5. Is the room well-lit and ventilated?
In some classrooms, there are many electric fans providing air to the children
during hot weather. However, in other classrooms, there aren't as many fans, so by
noon and afternoon, it gets really hot, which sometimes causes discomfort for the
children. Some classrooms have their materials well-organized, while others could
use a bit of tidying up.

CLASSROOM FACILITIES MATRIX
Classroom Facilities Description
(Location, number, arrangement, condition)
1. Wall displays In my observation of the classrooms, I noticed that some rooms
have no decorations at all, while others have an image of the Sacred
Heart of Jesus at the front center of the classroom. And this image is
not very large.
2. Teacher’s Table In the classroom I've been in, there are either two or three teacher's
tables. One is placed at the front, where the teacher scheduled to
teach at that time can place their laptop, materials, and other
teaching tools. The other two tables are at the back—one belongs to
the adviser teacher, while the other is used for storing items like the
printer and other supplies. These tables are covered, some with
fabric and others with cover cellophane.
3. Learner’s Desks I noticed that some students sit on wooden armchairs, while others
have long tables and plastic chairs. The arrangement of desks varies;
in some rooms, they are in rows, while in others, they are a mix of
rows and groupings. Each classroom has around 45 or more student
seats. The condition of the chairs is generally good, although some
need repair.
4. Blackboard The blackboard is located at the front, facing the students. However,
I've noticed that some classrooms have two blackboards—two at the
front, or one at the front and one at the back. The condition of these
blackboards is generally good, and the writing on them is clear and
legible.
5. Learning Each classroom has its own television, which is used by both the
Materials/ teacher and students. It is positioned at the front, above the
Visual Aids blackboard, making it easy for students to see. However, some of
the televisions are no longer new and already have some damage.

Name of School Observed: BACONGCO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
Location of the School: BRGY. SAN ISIDRO, KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO
Due to Visit: SEPTEMBER 3, 2024
My observation is that this public school has quiet environment because the place of this
school is far from the city and near in the mountain that is suitable for the learning development of the
students. I notice also that the buildings of the school are good and some need repair; some rooms are
well ventilated, and some need to add an electric fan.
ANALYZE
How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact the learning of the students
going to school? What are your conclusions?
Students' learning settings are critical to their performance. The state of each
building and the school environment had a significant impact on the learning
growth of the students. Students cannot concentrate in class if their educational
environment does not accommodate their learning adaptability. Seating, light,
noise, and even color can all impact learning ability. Students who study in a good
learning environment have been demonstrated to be more motivated, engaged,
and capable in general. Students learning in poor circumstances, on the other
hand, such as those that are uncomfortable, loud, or full of distractions, will have
a much harder time absorbing knowledge and being interested. As a result, when
educating students, we must consider the optimal atmosphere for them.
How does this relate to your knowledge of child and adolescent development/How does this
relate to your knowledge of facilitating learning?
It connects to my understanding of how children and adolescents develop, which
has helped me recognize the special qualities that every learner is, and how
important it is for us to take that into account as future educators. I have to keep in
mind that students pick things up at different speeds. Before determining which
strategies will work best for each student and putting them into practice, I need to
have a thorough understanding of their behavior and personality in order to
facilitate learning. It has been proposed that a child's environment has a big
influence on his development. This is the most critical age at which the child's
experiences have the potential to cause him to become bored. He or she has the
ability to control what happens to them in their environment.
REFLECT
1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observe? Why? Why not?
Yes, I would like to teach in the school environment I observed. Despite the
classrooms and building not being in perfect condition, the school offers a quiet
and distraction-free environment, which is conducive to learning. This setting
would allow me to focus on teaching and helping students without the
interruptions that a noisier location might bring. Additionally, the existing setup
shows potential for creating a positive and productive learning atmosphere. Not
only the atmosphere but also, I appreciate the supportive staff of this school.
2. What kind of school is conducive to learning?
In my opinion, a conducive school is clean and free from hazards, provides a quiet
environment so students can focus on their studies, and is well-ventilated to
prevent discomfort during hot weather. It should also have sufficient resources for
students, such as a library, learning aids, and other necessary materials. And also
Have a supportive staff.
3. What kind of classroom is conducive for learning?
In my opinion, a classroom conducive to learning is clean and well-organized to
avoid distractions. It should have natural light and be well-ventilated to prevent
discomfort from heat and help students focus. Materials such as books and
technology should be easily accessible. The classroom should also be quiet and
free from distractions.
4. In the future, how can you accomplish your answer in number 3?
To achieve this, I will start by implementing guidelines for regular cleaning,
which will include students participating in maintaining the area. Arrange the
seating and materials to make the most of natural light and ensure proper airflow
to keep the classroom comfortable for everyone. Establish clear expectations for
behavior and promote respect to create a welcoming environment for learning.
Keep technology up to date by doing routine maintenance and making meaningful
use of it to enhance learning.
5. Write your additional learning and insights here.
In addition to the actual surroundings, the learning environment also includes the
way you engage with your students in a variety of contexts. It is said that pupils
will emulate what they see. Therefore, I will be more perceptive to any methods
or resources that are offered to them as a future educator. Motivation to learn is
attainable. Therefore, encouraging students to learn is greatly aided by the campus
environment of the school. Given the heat and discomfort of their rooms, how
could any student focus on their studies? In turn, I believe that the learner's
environment can influence the learner's progress in learning.

REFLECT
1. Name at least five skills that a teacher should have to be able to come up with effective
board displays. Elaborate on why each skill is needed.
To create visually appealing and captivating bulletin boards that grab students'
attention and make learning enjoyable, a teacher needs to be creative. Good
organizational abilities facilitate a clear and simple content structure that is easy
for students to follow. Proficiency in content ensures that the board is instructive
and up to date, and proficient communication skills enable clear, clear messages.
Lastly, to ensure that the board improves learning rather than detracts from it,
attention to detail is essential to maintaining visual balance and avoiding
mistakes.
2. Which of the skills you named in # 1 do you already have? Recall your past experiences
in making board displays. How do you practice these skills?
From the skills I listed, I possess creativity, organization, and attention to detail.
In the past, when I created bulletin boards, I enjoyed thinking of unique ways to
present ideas, using colors, images, and layouts that would catch attention. My
organization skills helped me plan the board's structure, ensuring the content
flowed logically and was easy to read. I continue to develop these skills by
applying them to other visual projects like presentations and posters, always
seeking ways to improve.
3. Which skills do you still need to develop? What concrete steps will you take on how you
can improve on acquire these skills.
For bulletin board displays, I still need to work on improving my communication
skills and content knowledge. I want to give more time to studying and
comprehending the subjects I must present in order to broaden my content
knowledge. I may do this by going to useful workshops or reading instructional
materials. I'll practice writing clear and concise messages by drafting and editing
content before submitting it to the board in order to improve communication.
Getting input on my displays from mentors or coworkers can also yield ideas and
recommendations for development.
SHOW Your Learning Artifacts
My Personal Illustration of an Effective School Environment
Every element of education in this new era—both the institution and the students—must be
competitive. Technology advancements should be available to and owned by teachers and students.
To make sure that we are all a part of the same system and competitive in all areas of learning, we
need to keep up with the rate of innovation. The facilities and equipment at the school need to be
updated for the benefit of the instructors and pupils. The school ought to have come up with a self-
imposed mission and vision. Assume that all individuals will obtain an excellent education.
These qualities are necessary for a successful school. Among these are an engaging and secure
learning environment where the child is protected from harm brought on by accident or homicide.
Professional leadership is also necessary because students depend on teachers' instructions all the
time. It is also important to think about how important it is to concentrate on teaching and learning.
There should be learning communities, high expectations for every student, accountability, a
common vision and goals, and purposeful teaching.
I discovered that being environmentally conscious involves many different things, including
physical education. Perhaps it has to do with the facilities offered to students or how they navigate
the campus. Students should feel comfortable and safe within the school. If the school is
welcoming, vibrant, and green, then students ought to be encouraged to attend all of the classes. If
everyone is passionate about what they do, especially teachers who are so important in fostering a
positive school climate, I think it is very easy to achieve.
