Taj Mahal

Constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century as a mausoleum for his
wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
Famous for its stunning white marble architecture, intricate inlay work, and
symmetrical gardens, symbolizing eternal love.

2. Qutub Minar

Built by Qutb al-Din Aibak in 1193 to commemorate his victory over the last
Hindu kingdom in Delhi.
It is the tallest brick minaret in the world, featuring intricate Arabic
inscriptions and Indo-Islamic architectural details.
3. Red Fort

Constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1639, it served as the main residence of


Mughal emperors for nearly 200 years.
Known for its massive red sandstone walls, beautiful pavilions, and a mix of
Persian, Timurid, and Indian architectural elements.

4. Hampi Group of Monuments

The ruins of Hampi in Karnataka date back to the Vijayanagara Empire and are
renowned for their Dravidian-style temples and palaces.
Key attractions include the Virupaksha Temple, the Vittala Temple with its
musical pillars, and the stone chariot.

5. Konark Sun Temple


Built in the 13th century by King Narasimhadeva I in Odisha, this temple is
designed as a giant chariot dedicated to the Sun God, Surya.
It features twelve intricately carved stone wheels and detailed sculptures
depicting scenes from everyday life, mythology, and nature.

6. Charminar

Built by Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah in 1591 in Hyderabad to commemorate the
end of a deadly plague.
Recognizable for its four grand arches and minarets, it blends Indo-Islamic
architecture with Persian influences.
