Activity Type Introduction
Vocabulary Game: In this conjunctions game, students complete sentences with
matching, sentence a conjunction and suitable ending and then place bets on their
completion, betting answers.
Procedure

To begin, students complete 20 sentences with a conjunction and
suitable ending, writing their answers in the appropriate columns.
Aim
Next, students place bets on their answers depending on how

After that, go through the sentences with the class by eliciting
each answer from a different student.

If students guessed the correct conjunction and ending, they
write the number of points they bet in the 'win' column.
If students guessed incorrectly, they write it in the 'lose' column.
Afterwards, students add up their points and subtract the amount
lost from the amount won to give a grand total.
The student with the most points is the winner.
