FLAG
It is white and has the yang and yin symbols at its center. The yang (red symbol) means light
and heat, the yin (blue symbol) represents darkness and cold. The symbols surrounding the
yin-yang are four of the taeguks, which symbolize heaven, water, fire and earth. The white
background means peace.

DRESS
Korean clothing used to have fine silk or cotton stitching. The Korean people, for the most
part, preferred to wear white and simple clothes, which is why the neighboring countries
knew them as: "The people dressed in white". However, every Korean has a traditional
garment called "Hanbok" which is like a long jumpsuit for men and for women a long skirt
with a long sleeve made of the same fabric.
GEOGRAPHY
LOCATION
Korea is located on the Korean Peninsula in East Asia. The geography of South Korea is
diverse and also combined with mountains, coasts and rivers. Seoul was always the capital
of Korea for 600 years, since the times of the Joseon dynasty from 1392-1910, So Seoul
had the name “Han Yang”, but after the liberation of Japan in 1945, Korea adopted the name
Seoul for its capital city.
Borders: To the north it borders with North Korea, to the west with the Yellow Sea, to the
east with the Sea of Japan and to the south with the Korea Strait, which separates it from
Japan. Seoul was always the capital of Korea for 600 years, since the times of the Joseon
dynasty from 1392-1910,
Rivers: Major rivers include the Han River, which runs through Seoul, and the Nakdong
River, which is the longest in the country.
Coasts: South Korea has extensive coastlines with more than 3,000 islands, many of which
are uninhabited. The southwest coast has many small islands and irregular coastal
topography.
Islands: The most famous island is Jeju, which is also one of the country's main tourist
attractions, known for its volcanic nature and temperate climate.
LANGUAGE
Korean is the native language of South Korea and also of North Korea. This is the native
language of about 81 million people and is written by characters.

musical groups.
Korean Dramas: Korean series have super exciting stories, incredible romances and
sometimes even a bit of fantasy. They are perfect for spending an afternoon watching
episodes and episodes!
Delicious food: Korean food is an explosion of flavors. Kimchi, bibimbap and bulgogi are
some of the most famous dishes. They are super delicious and healthy!
Respect for elders: In Korea, there is a lot of respect for older people. It is a way to show
education and good manners.
Hanbok: It is traditional Korean clothing and is worn on special occasions such as New Year
or during festivals.
Seollal: The Korean New Year: They dress in traditional clothing called hanbok. It's like our
Christmas, but with an Asian touch.
Chuseok: Korean Thanksgiving Day: On this special day, families visit the graves of their
ancestors and prepare food to share.
Public baths or Jjimjilbang: It is a place where one can relax in hot saunas or cold pools and
have massages, it would be like a spa.
Eating with chopsticks: In Korea, chopsticks are used to eat almost everything.
