INSTRUCTIONS:
 Answer two questions choosing one from each section.

SECTION A
Item 1:
“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and yet don’t do what I tell you? Anyone who comes
to me and listens to my words and obeys them, I will show you what he is like. He is like a
man who in building his house, dug deep and laid the foundation on rock. The river flooded
over and hit that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.”

a) How can the message above from the text bring back people to believe and work in line
with God’s will?
b) Explain the African moral principles / values that helped them to remain faithful to their
leaders/ancestors.

Item 2:
Owemu is a thirty-five-year-old man, while he is always with his friends, they mock him to
get married that he is past age. His parents are still treating him as a boy, and he is also
looking at marriage as a burden to him – saying that it will encroach on his ways of
enjoying leisure (having regular outings with friends)

Tasks:
a) Clearly explain how important it is for Owemu to get married.
b) By use of African Traditional understanding of marriage, educate Owemu’s parents.

SECTION B
Item 3:
An old woman at Kyanamira village is being accused of theft and night dancing. In her
defiance she says, she only stole for once and it was due to hunger, on the issue of night
dancing, she asked them to produce evidence of which they failed. The village members set
her house ablaze, destroyed all her property and chased the old woman away from their
village.

Tasks:
a) As a student of Christian Religious Education, how can you help the village members to
reconcile with the old woman?
b) Write a statement that you are to present at the police station as an eye witness.

Item 4:
Kidepo is a father of 10 children who wakes up very early in the morning on a daily basis,
works throughout the day and comes back late in the night. At times Kidepo gets involved
in corruption, bribery, embezzlement of funds, gambling, smocking and alcoholism. His

children always have no chance of interacting with him but only interact with the mother.
Kidepo is like a stranger in his own home.

Tasks:
Show how the above scenario can affect Kidepo.
a) ways of accumulating wealth,
b) leisure
