DIDAL, JAMES P.
The movie entitled " Jose Rizal " shows an exploration of the life of
the national hero of our country, Philippines. It highlights his journey from a
curious child to a leader that illustrates the power of education to change.
We observe his transformation from a student pursuing abroad to finish his
education to a writer presenting all the abuse and maltreatment of the
Spanish Colonial. His strength and determination to fight against the church
and the Spanish colonial are shown in the movie.
The movie emphasizes Rizal's intelligence, commitment to education, and
persistent love for his country. It shows how Rizal fought the embedded
discrimination of colonial rule with his intelligence and bravery. Jose Rizal
fought the Spanish colonial using his pen and knowledge not in violence, his
writings not only exposed societal ills but also inspired a sense of nationalism
among Filipinos, especially "Noli Me Tangere" and "El Filibusterismo," which
are essential to reawakening the sense of national identity, the
consciousness of Filipinos.
It also effectively humanizes Rizal by emphasizing his relationships. His love
for Leonor Rivera and Josephine Bracken provides emotional weight to his
character, highlighting the personal sacrifices he made to pursue his goals.
These relationships emphasize the conflict between love and duty, showing
us that even leaders experience deep emotional problems and can choose
what is best for everyone.
I conclude the movie feeling proud and giving more respect to our country
and inspired to continue striving for positive change and to find more ways
to be better. This movie shows us that we must love and value our freedom
and our country. They died for nothing, they died victorious because our
country achieved independence from the Spaniards. Rizal's legacy inspires
us to actively participate in our communities and preserve the integrity and
bravery that he showed, reminding us that the struggle for freedom is a
shared responsibility.
