STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Having pursued a Bachelor's in Business Administration specializing in Human Resource Management, I was
always intrigued by how organizations in the 21st century drive long-term commercial viability. Little did I
know then that apart from the people who are termed as the most valuable asset for a company, there is yet
another driving force that enables these multinational firms to undertake strategic decision-making. Known as
data, it is attributed today as a distinguishing factor in determining a firm's success alongside its human resource.
Having completed my Senior School Secondary Examination from the Central Board of Secondary Education
in 2018, my undergraduate degree years have proved vital in determining my career trajectory over time. My
grades have been an apt representation of my zest to achieve academic excellence and propel me on a path of
success, having an evident impact on how I envision my career to unfold.

My undergraduate degree coursework was a thoughtful blend of theory and practice. One such occasion was
when, along with my classmates, I was given an academic volunteer project in the second year of my academic
studies that required us to travel to remote and rural areas to conduct health surveys and raise awareness among
those populations about the value of health and hygiene. The two most important lessons from the project that I
was able to learn were planning and implementation. While choosing a suitable rural location for such an
awareness camp required extensive preliminary investigation and analysis of the available information, setting
up the ideal set of tools to guarantee the awareness camp's success required precise preparation. I also discovered
the importance of teamwork, leadership, and resource management while working toward the same goal.

In addition to the projects I undertook, I participated actively in a host of knowledge-sharing sessions and
seminars. By being a part of AIESEC Indore I also led student awareness seminars at St. Raphael’s Higher
Secondary School towards tackling the issues related to UNSDGs and volunteered at a Symposium on the start-
up Ecosystem of central India by the Atal Incubation Centre. While being a delegate at these conferences, I
learned not just about various cultures and perspectives through my interactions with social groups and
multicultural student communities but also gained the prerequisite traits to be a well-rounded and diplomatic
conversationalist. My undergraduate program gave me an understanding of how firms now use quantitative
information to extract insightful information that enables them to make critical strategic decisions. The evident
involvement of data in their daily operations became increasingly evident as I focused on human resource
management. I became interested in data's real-time potential within corporations and joined OT Solutions Tech
Pvt Ltd as a Data Analyst.

As part of my affiliations with the company, I assisted in implementing several changes to our organizational
infrastructure that significantly increased the productivity, effectiveness, and calibre of software products. In
addition to my professional responsibilities, I have the opportunity to learn various new skills, such as
commercial knowledge of established and future technology platforms, to identify possible outcomes that my
firm may achieve through existing applications and new services. To pursue a long-term career in business
analytics, I have also pursued a host of extracurricular certifications, from gaining knowledge of the Power BI
Tool, Python, and MySQL from Tech Radix Pvt Ltd in Indore to comprehending the significance of
Developing Soft Skills and Personality workshop from IIT Kanpur and Effective Business Communication
course from IIM Bangalore. These responsibilities have improved my analytical, problem-solving,
interpersonal, strategic, and people management abilities.

Having worked in the industry for 1.5 years, I now feel a pressing need to pursue specialized learning and
enhance my abilities to meet the global work market demands. A Business Analytics degree from your
prestigious university will allow me to learn how to operate in various business environments and give me the

attributes I need to integrate technology into organizations in a quickly shifting global economic world. When
deciding to pursue a master's degree in business analytics, I also kept in mind that having a solid background in
data and information sciences would enable me to significantly contribute to helping organizations, particularly
businesses, achieve their potential growth trajectories, among other things by using statistical tools and other
applications. A master's program with your university is essential to build such qualities and perfect the art of
making the best use of the available data and information obtainable, and I am anxiously anticipating the same.

In the long run of my career, I'm excited to create a reputation as a business analyst who can assist businesses
with creating appropriate system settings and meticulously examining significant amounts of data. I would look
for employment after earning a degree in business analytics in several big businesses, including banking,
consumer products, healthcare, and even manufacturing. In addition, I can work as a Business Analyst, Project
Manager, or Outsourced Consultant, developing a variety of data visualizations and offering specialized
knowledge to organizational decision-makers while managing significant client projects.

The MS in Business Analytics program at the University of Massachusetts Boston- College of Management
is well-regarded. It is known to be one of the top reputable public research universities in the country that
challenge and equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to analyze and interpret data, as well as make
data-driven decisions in a business setting, and also places an emphasis on affordability, personalism, and
professionalism. Along with this, it includes a mix of Analytical Core, MSBA Electives and capstone courses
such as (MSIS 630) Project and Change Management, (MSIS 618) Database Management Systems, (MSIS
631) Operational Risk Management, and many more. All of this coursework captures my interests and align
with the professional goals that will arm me with in-depth knowledge and a strong foundation in these areas will
help me to be well-prepared for a career in business analytics.

Also, the MSBA program at UMass Boston encourages students to participate in numerous clubs and group
activities so that they can discover and develop their leadership skills. Due to this, I am certain that this is nothing
but the best fit for my quest to attain sound knowledge in an analytics career along with a great real-life exposure.
Apart from this, what particularly excites me is learning from some amazing faculty members who have
conducted cutting-edge research in a wide range of areas related to business analytics. Particularly, some of the
publications of Professor Ehsan Elahi i.e., “How Risk Management Can Turn into Competitive
Advantage,” and “Outsourcing through Competition: What is the Best Competition Parameter?” is
perfectly relevant to my academic interests and I believe learning from him and his research will be a valuable
part of my education and help me to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in this field.

In addition to the comprehensive coursework at UMass Boston, I am also drawn towards its community services
and other volunteering experiences, like Office of Student Leadership and Community Engagement
(OSCLE), and Interfaith Center. I believe that participating in these communities will provide me with
valuable personal as well as professional development opportunities, and what entices me is the opportunity to
be part of the expansive alumni group which will help me make great connections with my peers.

Through this program, I will be able to improve my ability to scrutinize and evaluate large volumes of corporate
data and raw information to understand and extract valuable results over the long term. Thus, I'll be able to better
prepare myself for the current and future landscape of handling company data and organizational tasks that
transcend geographical boundaries.

I appreciate the admissions committee's consideration of my application and look forward to beginning the
Business Analytics master's program at University of Massachusetts Boston.
