Assalamualaikum wr. wb.

Hallo everyone. good morning.let me introduce myself first. My name is Tasya Zahwa
Azzahra, and you can call me Tasya. I am a student of Semarang State Polytechnic, majoring
in electrical engineering, informatics engineering study program, from IK2A class, and I will
describe about Modems.
Modem (modulator demodulator) is a device that serves to connect computers, laptops, and
smartphones to the internet network. The modem becomes an intermediary that can receive
and send signals to various computers, laptops, or smartphones. Not only that, another
function of the modem is to check data packets and communications. This also allows your
device to connect to the internet.
Modems have several types, including:
1. External Modem
An external modem is a device used for computers to access the internet where data from
computers in the form of digital signals will be converted into analog signals.

2. Internal Modem

If the data has arrived at the destination modem, then this analog signal will be converted
back into a digital signal and sent directly to the computer.
4. GSM Modems

GSM modem is a type of modem that uses a cellular phone as a system medium for data
transfer.

5. ADSL Modem

The ADSL modem, which stands for Asymmetric Digital Subscribe Line, is a tool for
accessing the internet and using analog telephones at the same time.

6. CDMA Modems

CDMA modem is a type of modem that uses a CDMA 800 MHz or CDMA 1x

frequency.
The way a modem works is that data from a computer in digital form is converted by the
modem into an analog signal. The analog signal can be sent to other telecommunications
media such as telephone and radio. When the analog data arrived at the destination
computer. Then the modem that is on the destination computer, converts it into a digital
signal again so that it can be processed.
