THE LAUGHING DOG – The Story

1. One foggy stormy day there was an old man wearing a long blue coat going to the

cinema with his big black dog. On the ticket said that the movie began at 6. Before he

went into the cinema, he bought a large cold drink and an ice cream.

2. He went into the cinema at half past five, sat down at the back with his big black dog

and waited for the movie to begin.

3. While the movie was playing, a small boy noticed that every time something funny

happened in the movie, the dog laughed and laughed. Every time something sad

happened in the movie, the dog cried and cried.

4. When the movie finished, the small boy went over to the old man and his dog and

said “Wow, your dog is amazing – he really loved that movie”. The old man replied,

“Yes, it’s strange – he hated the book”.
