Proactive
Monitoring
Why is Monitoring required?
Proactive monitoring simply
means constantly attempting to
identify potential issues before they
create major challenges for your
business. Since proactive monitoring
anticipates issues, you can address
these issues before an application
crashes or performance degradation
sets in.

On a day-to-day
basis, below t-codes
used for monitoring a
Fiori system:
Error Log (FES - Performance Trace
Application Log /IWFND/ERROR_LOG, Statistics (FES -
(SLG1) BES - (/IWFND/STATS) /IWFND/TRACES, BES
/IWBEP/ERROR_LOG) - /IWBEP/TRACES)
Fiori Monitoring
• Application Log (SLG1) :
• Logs are automatically written by SAP Gateway components according to the
log levels set in the system. Customers can monitor log files via transaction SLG1.
• For FES systems filter for object /IWFND/ , for BES systems use object /IWBEP/
• Error log in GW/S4 systems provide detailed
context information about errors that have
occurred at runtime.
Error Log (FES - • Developers, administrators, support
/IWFND/ERROR consultants, and end users can launch the
_LOG, BES - Error Log in transaction /IWFND/ERROR_LOG
/IWBEP/ERROR_ for FES and /IWBEP/ERROR_LOG in BES
LOG) : systems to obtain important context
information about the time and location of
errors. The Error Log facilitates easy
navigation to the affected source code where
you can make the necessary corrections.
/IWFND/ERROR_LOG
/IWBEP/ERROR_LOG
Statistics (/IWFND/STATS) :
• SAP Gateway Statistics provides comprehensive
overview of processing time statistics for SAP
Gateway.
Fiori • It provides an aggregated statistics view to further
always facilitate monitoring and on all levels.
• SAP Gateway Statistics provides the following
Monitoring information in a tabular overview.
• Times refer to processing times and are given in
milliseconds.
• We can expand or collapse entries depending on
the level of granularity you require.
