II- INTRODUCTORY CONCEPT:
What do you know about word association (analogy) ?
An analogy is a comparison of two things that may have similar
or opposite characteristics or features.
Example: Reading Month is to Parade of characters as
Nutrition
Month is to Display of 3 food groups.
The above idea of comparison can be written also in this way:
Reading Month : Parade of characters :: Nutrition
Month is to Display of 3 food groups
Both statements tell relationship and comparison of ideas. During
reading month, there is parade of characters as activity; while during
Nutrition Month, there is display of 3 food groups as part of the
celebration.
So, take note that in analogy, you compare and give the relationship of
two things or ideas.
