LABOUR AND TRADE UNIONS
 Working people (doctors, mechanics,
teachers, etc.) make up the labour force of
the country in which they live.
A trade union is a group of workers who
come together to fight for their interests.
In Nigeria, the largest trade union is called
    the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)
   Workers interests and concerns include
things like fair pay, safe working
    conditions, protection against unfair
    dismissal and adequate leave.
When unions feel that workers' demands
are not met or that they are treated
unfairly, they organize strikes, rallies and
    marches.
These are normally quite effective as they
force the government or employers to
    negotiate with the workers.
