Greetings
Good morning kids!
Good morning teacher!
How's your day?
Were fine teacher.
By the way I am teacher Marj your
English 2 teacher.

But before we proceed let’s stand for a

prayer.

Alex, kindly lead the prayer.

Yes, teacher.
Dear, Lord helps us to be good, help
us to do things we should. Bless my
teacher my classmates and all. Amen.
Before taking your seats, please pick
up the pieces of papers under your
chairs and arrange your seats
properly.

Do we have absentees today?

None teacher.
Wow that’s nice class!

Now can you still remember our

previous lesson?
Yes, teacher.
Ok Jane what was our previous
lesson?
Yesterday our lesson was all about
elements of the story.
That’s right our discussion yesterday
was about elements of the story.

What are the three elements of the

story?
Ma’am.
Yes Ella?
The three elements of the story are
setting, character, and events.
Very good Ella.

A. Activity

Now, I have here a short story. We will

read this loud simultaneously. Then
you are going to number the pictures
from 1 to 3 as they happened in the
story. The story entitled,

“The Secret Life of Cats”

Lina had three cats. They were quiet,

boring cats, really. Or so the family
thought! But whenever no one but the
cats were home, the cats would play!
First, Roger would play with the ball.
Then Kiki would get excited and take a
ride on the skateboard. Then, Ollie
would get up and start to dance. By
the time Lina and her family returned,
they were always back to taking their
naps!

Now, let us arranged the following

pictures on the board based on their
correct sequence or order.

First Next Then

Let’s get
started!

So, anyone can tell me the first cat

played in the story?
Ma’am!

It started with Roger played with ball.

Yes Aila?

Very good Aila!

Ma’am!
Then what happen next?
Next is Kiki riding the skateboard and
Yes Alex?
then Ollie is dancing.

That’s right, very good Alex! First Next Then

Now, let’s proceed to the main topic of
today’s lesson.

B. Analysis

Today our topic is Identifying basic Ma’am!

predictions about stories. Sequence is the order in which events
happen. It helps you understand what

sequence on the board?

Yes Ryan?

Yes, you can't just throw everything in

the bowl at once!

Sequence is all about the order things

happen. Think about it like a recipe.
When you bake a cake, you have to
follow the steps in order, right?

Exactly! You have to mix the flour first,

then add the eggs, then bake it. That's I wake up and get out of bed!
sequence! It's the order things happen.
So, like in a story, it's like what I go to the bathroom.
happens first, then next, and then last.
I get dressed!
Let's imagine you wake up in the
morning. What's the first thing you do? We eat breakfast.

Great! What happens next? We go to school.

Now, what happens after that?

Right! What happens next?

Then last?

Excellent! Now, you understand the

sequence of events in your morning So, we don't forget anything.
routine and school day.

Now, let's think about how knowing the

sequence helps us in our daily lives.
Why is it important to know the order
of things we do?

Exactly! Understanding the sequence We say good morning to our teacher

helps us stay organized and make and friends.
sure we do everything we need to do.
We might have morning
Now, let's think about what might announcements.
happen next in your school day after
you arrived at school.
We might go to our first class!

Right! What might happen next?

That's a good prediction! What else
might happen?

Great!

C. Abstraction

So, by understanding the sequence of

events, we can make predictions about
what might happen next in our day. It's
like being a detective for our own lives.

D. Application

Read the story below. Fill in the blanks

with correct sequence of events found
in the box.

First Then Next Second After

The first thing I do when I walk my

dog is put on his leash. Second, I
walk out the door. Next, I lead him
down the driveway. Then, we walk
around the block. After our walk, I
take off his leash.

Now complete the events below by

filling the correct sequence of events
found in the box.
_________ I walk out the door.

C. Mang Lito doesn't have money to

buy food for his family

Second I walk out the door.

_________ We walk around the block.
_________ I take off his leash.
