IELTS Examination Registration Process (IMP)
Dear Student,
If you plan to take IELTS, please READ the following directions before commencing with
the IELTS registration process.
1. For registering online go to https://www.britishcouncil.ae/en/exam/ielts
2. Go to Book your test at an official TEST CENTRE
3. Create an account if this is the first time you are taking IELTS.
4. Once you create an account you will be required to login again
5. From the drop-down option select ‘Academic’ from the test option
6. You will need a credit/debit card when registering online.
7. Documents required for registration: Passport Photo and Passport copy to be
uploaded. (NOTE: Make sure you have a form of valid ID, Passport or Emirates
ID card at hand, as you will need to upload a clear photocopy of it when you
book your test. Please note that candidates under 18 years of age have to
supply written consent by a parent or guardian in order to apply for a test
place)
8. Fee structure follows:

IELTS Academic and General Training - computer- AED

9. Test Dates– these are subject to change when you are registering, so search for
any dates between that would be most convenient for you or based on what
we will have discussed. Note: not all dates are available at all venues.
10. Do not worry about the college details where you need to send the scores etc
these can be filled in later
11. Acceptable ID’s: Passport or Emirates ID (Please note that you will not be
allowed to enter exam hall without the original ID that you used during the
registration
Notes:
- You can save your progress so if you have any doubt please feel free to
clarify before proceeding.
- IELTS is an important but a much simpler examination compared to SAT, so
there is ample time to ensure optimum preparedness, and
- You are advised to complete the registration process - upon advisement
from me - at the earliest possible.
BASIC STEPS BELOW:
1. BRITISH COUNCIL web page - GO TO THE TAB ‘TAKE AN EXAM’ and
2. TAKE IELTS with British Council
3. Click on the BOOK YOUR TEST AT AN OFFICIAL TEST CENTRE
4. Scroll Below and check the test they offer below
5. MAKE SURE YOU SELECT THE PAPER BASED TEST OR COMPUTER BASED TEST
DEPENDING ON YOUR PREFERNCE
6. You will be directed to a WELCOME page select the COUNTRY as UNITED ARAB
EMIRATES AS SHOWN BELOW
7. Select the Date, City and in Module please check it SHOULD BE ACADEMIC
8. In this step you will be able to select the center and test dates accordingly and
then once you have decided click on APPLY
9. After which you will be asked to enter your personal
details. While registration please make sure to use
only your PASSPORT COPY as this certificate will be
used world wide for university purpose and etc.
Make the payment using CREDIT CARD / DEBIT
CARD, and keep a copy of the receipt with you once
you done with the registration process. Check your
emails as the IELTS speaking date is sometimes
earlier.
