Chapter One
The night was young as the bright mind numbing light of the nearby street post light by a small ball of flame, reflecting on the face of Jacob Broker as he was dressed in a pure white silk tuxido with a red velvet tie swish across his flat chest. A cool breeze brush into his wet gold hair as it shined bright like a coin. The unsettled feeling of the fresh spring air brushed into his mind as he buckled his black winter jacket over his shoulders as an uneasy burned deep in him as he walked down the road of light street posts slowly going into the spots of darkness one by one. Crackling, popping, and a roar of a nearby motored buggie vehicle started up as Jacob turned with a flash of bright white light covering his face. In the light was a tragic wind of rust and disguest as Jacob Broker laid on the concreted road with his arms spreaded wide like a wild animal that has been shot. Blood flooded around the tires as the sound of the beated up door on the buggie creaked open for a woman with long silver hair to stand in high pink heels that smoothed their way in the blood. With her hands reaching into her breast underneath her silked lined flower purple
dress to pull out a small pistol from the inside of her bra. Death lurked in her eyes as well as revenge as she pulled back the trigger for the sound of the exsplosing bang of gun powder and the metal of the bullet clapsing hard to the road. With the brush of the wind the woman had place the pistol in her bra from once in came and had herself halfway back to her beat up car. Her blue cold eyes looked over in the alley at a man with a long white labratory coat on as he held a metal bent pipe in his hand. "If you want the man you can have him." The wide spread of her red plumted lips spread wide into a smile as she moved her hand to push her long hair to her back. A bright little glimer sparkled in her eyes as she looked down at her feet. "I ruined my brand new heels in that bastard's blood." He still stood in the darkness with only his lab coat reflecting his body out of the darkness like a ghost as he lowered the pipe and smiled as he cocked his head slightly to the left to look at her with a smile piercing through the darkness as a slimy red tongue broke through the dark and shot toward her as she bent down grasping hold of her gun with her middle finger ready to pull on the trigger as the only thing that filled the air was the crazy and unheared laughters of the man in the darkness. A small sweat drop fell still touching her forehead she slouched and stuck to her bent and beated up car with her eyes staring wide up in the air with her hand holding tightly to her small little gun. With a giant pause and the retreated of air smacking her in the face as the man's tongue disappeared. For a long quiet moment she slowly stood to her feet patting the dirt from her dress with a fearless expression written on her face as she stood quietly opening the car door. Dark mysterious whispers broke the silcence the woman had as her long hair soared high in the air as a thin silver wire shined infront of her as a click filled her ear and the wire tightend, with her head landing on the ground mixing with the blood of Jacob Broker. It was early in the morning of April when Maria Jone Broker the mother of three turned on the morning news with a cup of hot boiling tea. A worried feeling of regret filled her small and fragile heart as the news report stood before her eyes with a mic to his lips he started walking infront of a beated up buggie and an ambulance car lifting two body bag into the back. "This morning on a daily stroll around her neighborhood the local and retired nurse Jodi Michelle came across the
dead bodies of Jacob Conner Broker and a mysterious blonde woman, who we believe to be millionare daughter Julia Samantha. Appariantly it seems that both Ms. Samantha and Mr. Broker have both been brutedly murdered." The woman had dropped her cup of tea on the floor as the exploding tears of unending pain began to scrap and burn and tear at her heart, as the fact of her dead husband rushed into her mind. Her mind wondered with worry as to what she will say to her beloved children about their now dead father as she must deal with a heart broken family that will begin to bear a great cloud of sorrow. With her hands clampsing tightly around her chest she fell from the kitchen chair to the floor kneeling down crying and whaling. The pain of a broken heart was killer to a woman's heart as her first born child, James Broker age of seventeen walked into the kitchen carring his youngest sister, Ashley Broker, on his hip. Shock filled his face and the screams of his sister filled the room mixing and turning inside of their mothers as James placed his sister down in a pale yellow high chair to reach into the closet under the stairway and behind the boiler for him to clean up the broken cup. Maria forced her wet teary red face off the ground to grasp the broom from her son. In her mind the pain he was feeling must have been unbearable, but in her questionable thought she looked at him and knew right away he didn't know. She knew that they would find out at their day of school from other children at school and their teachers, but the pain in her heart was to great she fell back down with a piece of glass cutting deep into her knee. Ash Broker, the middle child age of fifteen, walked into the kitchen and saw the blood rushing on the floor as she turned to grab hold of towel and rushed to her mother's side lifting her into a chair. With her lips muttering words to herself Maria looked at her kids and smiled, "I love you guys...you know that don't you?" "Of course we know that mom." Said James and Ash as they smiled at her as they eached worked together cleaning and dressing her knee. "We wish you would be alittle more careful in the morning because normal it is dad we are normally hearing crying or bleeding." Chuckled James as he walked over and turned the VSR on to push in a video tabe inside. "Like yesterday dad said something about how he was going to die when he was fine." "Yeah, didn' he get one of those stupid fortune cookies from the chinese vendor infront of the grocery store here at this corner? James, you want some pancakes?" Said Ash as she turned to smile at her
mother with a kind calm smile. As smile in her mother's eyes will soon vanish into thin air like what her mother sees their happy loving life. "No I am good with my regular bowl of oatmeal and sugar." James smiled back placing a bowl of water and oats into the microwave to stare at his mother, who was still crying and was muttering words to herself. "Something the matter, mom?" With her eyes going wide Maria jumped up into the air and shook her head with a fake smile blooming on the red face of hers. Salty wet tears still hurtled their way down her cheeks to splatter on her blouse. James and Ash look at each other as James asked her to watch his food and Ashley as he walked out the kitchen after his mother. His flabby old navy t-shirt reflected the bright light of a small room hidden high in the attic with the brightest of light acrossed the ceiling. "Jacob...Jake you aren't gone...no this is just a crazy dream." In the far corner of the bright room was his mother that had gone and pulled her body int the shape of a ball. With her face covered and her brown hair already a mess she stared crying again. James pulled his tall body through the narrow doorway and crawled to his mother. Keeping his mountain shaped head he faced his crying mother and tried to pull her hand away from her sad face. "NO LEAVE ME ALONE!" She screamed with her hands smacking and scratching and punching James in the face. "Mom, calm down!" He yelled at her with a calm gentle voice as he tried to keep himself calm as his normal behavior of yelling back wouldn't solve the matter. "What is the matter mom? You are never like this." The unbearable thoughts of saddness and tears falling from her children's face lurked her mind as she covered her face again with her arms trying to imagine twenty years in the past once again when her and Jacob came to be, but every memory of their shared kissed of gentle and sweet love blood filled her mind as the cold touch of his fingers and his lips and his body would never again be pressed against hers nor ever close to ever being close to her ever again. Jame's face came into her mind as his young eyes and lips to the hard curve texture of his crooked banana noise made him resemble Jacob in her eyes. With her desperate hands she reached forward grasping her son's face and digging in her nails to yell loudly with all her sorrow and anger bearing deep inside her words. "WHY DID YOU LEAVE FOR THAT STUPID MEETING! IF YOU DIDN'T LEAVE ME AND THE KIDS I WOULDN'T FEEL LIKE I AM DIEING! wHY DID YOU FUCKING LEAVE THIS HOUSE AND DIE!"
"Die...mom is dad...dead." James asked his mother, but with a useless attempt she just spaced out with little strength she released him from her grasp. "Mom..." "Everything ok?" He turned to see Ash in the narrow entrence with her long orange hair tightly pined back into a pony-tail. The calm feeling made her brother leap high into the air as he turned and grasped his mother. With a shaded color of red blooming on his shy face James escored his mother toward the passage. "James?" "I will tell you later on the way to school." In his mind it felt like he entered a new world yet undiscovered and filled with mystery as he had the image of his laughing father at the kitchen table of leaning over the passage waiting for him and Ash to come out. With a small glimmer of hope James crawled out of the passage and hope to see his father leaning forward with a half smiling smirk waiting to laugh at him, but in his thougths James knew it was never going to happen again.
