KABANATA 3
METODOLOHIYA
This chapter presents the research methods that the
researchers will use in conducting this study; the research design,
respondents, research instrument, as well as the method and analysis done in
gathering data.
DISENYO NG PANANALIKSIK
The research design used in this study is called
"Phenomenology" to gain a deep understanding of the lived experiences of
students at the Asian Institute of Computer Studies-Cebu about the impact of
lack of sleep on students' academic performance. Phenomenology helps to
enable the exploration of the meanings attached to the academic pressure of
the participants in their studies and sleep. This helped the researchers to
understand what it is like to experience a lack of sleep on the academic
performance of ICT students. Exploring the lives of students who experience
a great deal of academic pressure regarding sleep is phenomenological
research. Qualitative phenomenological research design aims to uncover
what a particular experience means to a group of people and how they
experience it.
RESPONDENTE NG PANANALIKSIK
The participants in this study consisted of Grade - 11 students
in all strands of the Asian Institute of Computer Studies-Cebu. In this study,
the general sample consisted of fifty (50) respondents. The researchers used
a type of Probability Sampling called Simple Random Sampling. The fifty (50)
respondents were Grade 11 students from different sections in all strands.
The sections under the given strand are equipped and qualified to make the
research possible.
INSTRUMENTO NG PANANALIKSIK
The researchers used questionnaires to conduct the research
because it is the simplest way to contact the respondents. Using the method
of purposive sampling, a paper was developed with ten (10) questions that
constitute self-administered questions. The research question can be
answered with a more effective explanation. The questionnaire covers various
areas, including demographic information (age, gender, and section).
HAKBANG NG PAGLIKOM NG DATOS
After the teacher verified the sample questions, the
researchers sent a letter of request asking for permission to conduct a “paper-
based survey” to the school administration of AICS-Cebu. The researchers
explained to the respondents the purpose of the questionnaire, the study, and
the significance of each response. After the respondents answered the
questionnaire, the researchers collected the papers and began to record and
analyze the results.
