This book is a report of a monster research
investigation conducted by selected members of the
Royal Paleontological Scrivener Corps.

Sometimes they will search every nook and cranny of the mountains and
fields, searching for traces of monsters in minute details, sometimes they will
hole themselves up in the lab and consult documents left behind by their
predecessors, and sometimes they will try to get as close as possible to the
monsters and conduct risky investigations.

This research report is the result of hard work and diligent study,
and the result of surviving numerous life-threatening situations.
However, even with such efforts, the world is vast and the power
of monsters is immeasurable.

With this in mind, please understand that not all of the information that
can be disclosed at present is complete, and most of it is unconfirmed.
Even if it is confirmed, it is still far from a complete clarification.

Furthermore, even though it is still under investigation, it contains useful

information that you would never know if you were just hunting. We hope
that the fruits of our research will lead to further success for all hunters.

This book also includes a model similar to the one we

use to understand the body structure of monsters, and
we hope that it will be useful in the study of the ecology
of monsters.
Barioth
A swift Flying Wyvern that reigns over the Tundra. It is
characterized by its huge fangs and sharp spines. They skillfully
use the spike-like scales on their wings and tails to run freely
across slippery ice. As long as it has that ability, it will be very
difficult to keep up with him. Also known as the "Ice Fang Wyvern."
It lives in a world dyed in silver, and
due to its graceful movements it has
been nicknamed the "Knight of the
Tundra."
The Skin and Appearance of Barioth

Barioth primarily lives in the Tundra, and has a white

shell that blends in with the silvery white world. Other
notable features of Barioth's appearance include its
eye-catching amber-colored fangs and the sharp
spikes placed at key points on its body.

movement on the snow.

Recent research, based on reconstructions of footprints, has confirmed that there were spikes
on the undersides of the feet as well. This is new evidence of its maneuverability on ice. Since
Soles it is concentrated only on the soles of the front feet, it is clear that it is the forelegs that are
primarily responsible for braking.

Barioth Ecology
A Flying Wyvern species that lives in the
Tundra. Its wings are large for a species
that uses its front legs to move on the
ground, and it is said to have no difficulty
flying. Its wings are equipped with large,
well-developed spines, enabling it to move
nimbly on snowy fields and ice. They
appear to play an important role in
changing direction, and Barioth can lose
balance if they are damaged.

Barioth Breeding
They do not normally form groups,
instead each have their own territory.
However, during the breeding season
the males travel to the females'
territories. If the female accepts the
male, they mate. At this time the
female inspects the male's fangs,
including their shape and length, and
if she does not like them she chases
him away.

It has sharp fangs with

regions where Barioth lives are filled
with creatures like Popo that have
long body hair and large amounts of

evolved to be able to bite deeply into
that thick fat and fur. After capturing
their prey, they skillfully use these
fangs like knives to eat the meat.

Barioth Juveniles
When young, their body
temperature regulation is
underdeveloped, so their
entire body is covered with
soft hair. As they grow and
their shell develops, the
hairs appear to gradually fall

Juvenile Fangs
As they grow, their fangs grow
and the corners of their mouths
are pushed up, causing a
change in their appearance. The
tusks of juveniles are pale in
colour because the iron in their
prey's blood is what will
eventually give them their brown
colour.

Barioth Parenting
It is believed that they raise
their young in caves deep in
the snowy mountains. This
is currently a challenge for
research as the species
chooses to live in high
places, as if to prevent other
creatures from entering.

Weapons Made From Barioth Materials
Weapons, which are made with generous amounts of Barioth materials, are endowed with a freezing ice property that tears
apart the flesh of anyone who is slashed with it. Also, perhaps because its characteristic sharp fangs are used as a material, it
not only has a very good cutting ability, but also seems to be able to display unexpected offensive power.

Armor Made from Barioth Materials
Barioth runs freely across the snowy fields. By wearing light armor made from this material, you can reduce
the stamina consumed by evading attacks and guarding. It seems to continue to be popular among hunters
who are well aware of the importance of stamina management when hunting.
