Family life in the United States is changing. Thirty or forty years ago, the
wife was called a "housewife". She cleaned, cooked, and cared for the children.
The husband earned the money for the family. He was usually out working all day.

Because the low latitudes of the Earth, the areas near the equator, receive more heat than the latitudes
