Learning Competencies: (S11/12LT-IIbd-4) (S11/12LT-IIbd-5)
(S11/12LT-IIbd-6) (S11/12LT-IIbd-7) (S11/12LT-IIbd-8)
Explain how cells carry out functions required for life
Explain how photosynthetic organisms use light energy to
combine carbon dioxide and water to form energy-rich
compounds
Trace the energy flow from the environment to the cells
Describe how organism obtain and utilize energy
Recognize that organisms require energy to carry out functions
required for life
KBI: Appreciate the beginning of life
II. CONTENT: Bioenergetics
GAD: All students have the equal opportunity to know and understand
the about cells since we all are made of cells regarding of its gender.
Contextualization: Student are able to discuss about cell theory as
well as explain photosynthesis.
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
Earth and Life Science CG p.4 (S11/12LT-IIbd-4) (S11/12LT-IIbd-5)
(S11/12LT-IIbd-6) (S11/12LT-IIbd-7) (S11/12LT-IIbd-8)

B. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminaries: Prayer, Checking of attendance, Energizer
Lesson Proper
1. Elicit/Review/Drill
The students will be asked to recall their previous topic
about the Biological System.
2. Engage/Motivation
The students will be asked by the teacher what they have
understood about the quotes “Whenever you feel sad, just
remember that there are trillions of cells in your body, and all
they care about is you.”
3. Explore/Activity
A video about Cell: The Grand Tour by Dr. Binocs will be
shown to the students.
4. Explain/Analysis
` Who discovered the cell?
When was the cell was discovered?
Can you live without cell?
5. Elaborate/Abstraction
Cell Theory Development
Cell Types and Organelles
Prokaryotic cells
Eukaryotic cells
Photosynthesis
6. Extend/Application
The students will be grouped into 5 groups and each
group will answer a table about “A Tale of a Tail”, where a
picture of a tadpole will be shown to the students. A table will be
given in each group and there going to fill/check what is asked.
Generalization
I learned that. . .
