INTRODUCTION:
How important is the presence of God into your life?
TS: I ask such question because I would like to open your understanding at the
expanse of God’s desire that we may experience His presence.
What makes Christianity different than any other belief system on earth?
All other religions are about man looking for God, but God is actually looking for man for
the purpose of saving him and dwelling with him!
TS: Look at this Graphic Illustration of how God truly desire to have a
RELATIONSHIP and DWELL in you and me.

The word 7D Tabernacle has three different words used for it in Hebrew
7E mishkan, which means a dwelling-place (7F God wants to dwell with us)
7G ohel mo’ed, or ‘tent of meeting” (7H God wants to meet with us -

7I miqdosh, which is a ‘holy place” (God is Holy, sacred, 7J God want us to be

5A HOW IMPORTANT IS THE TABERNACLE?
In Genesis 1 & 2 we read about God’s creation. And right in the middle of that
account, the Bible refers to God creating billions upon billions of stars. How does
God put this monumental accomplishment into words? With just 5 words.
5B Genesis 1:16b CEV
He also made the stars.
That’s all it says. Imagine all the work and activity of God in this magnanimous
undertaking and it’s all summed up there.
TS: As we begin, today’s study of the Tabernacle we find not just a verse or a chapter of
verses, but 50 chapters devoted to it, 13 in Exodus; 18 in Leviticus; 13 in
Numbers; 2 in Deuteronomy; and 4 in Hebrews. The final 16 chapters in Exodus
are primarily devoted to the instructions and fashioning of the tabernacle.
6A Why is this? Why would God give 5 words to the stars and 50 chapters to
the Tabernacle?
6B God is much more interested in relationship than creation.
6C The SAVING of 1 SOUL is much more important than the shaping of all the
stars.

Foreshadowing
Hebrews 8:5 TPT
The priests on earth serve in a temple that is but a copy modeled after the heavenly
sanctuary; a shadow of the reality. For when Moses began to construct the tabernacle
God warned him and said, “You must precisely follow the pattern I revealed to you on Mt.
Sinai.”
Typified of Christ
John 1:14 AFV
And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us (and we ourselves beheld His
glory, the glory as of the only begotten with the Father), full of grace and truth.

CONCLUSION:
14 Ephesians 2:22 TPT
This means that God is transforming each one of you into the Holy of Holies, His dwelling
place, through the power of the Holy Spirit living in you!
All three parts of the Tabernacle enclosure symbolize God’s ultimate plan for
obedient people.
1. The Outer Court typifies the world. Passing through the cleansing
process in the world we enter the Church by being added to it.
2. The Holy Place typifies the Church. The place where Christians faithfully
serve until death.
3. The Holy of Holies typifies Heaven. After a life of faithfully service, a
Christian passes through the veil of death, after which will come the
judgment then Heaven.
Theme: God has created a space that enables His people to encounter Him.
Introduction:
Where is your safe place? Where do you find your greatest sense of worth or comfort or
protection or security? For many of us, it might be in our homes either with or without
family. But for more, the greater sense of deepened relational worth is found in the local
church. Why is that? Because the local church does four things.
A refuge from the onslaught.
A remembering of what is true.
A rekindling of a relationship.
A reinforcing of the strong hold.
This study seeks to show how the local church is a place where heaven and earth come
together.
In the Pentateuch there are five different Hebrew terms or titles for the sacred space
Moses was instructed to build. All five are used in Exodus chapters 25-38:
1. miqdas (i.e. Ex 25:8): This Hebrew word is usually translated "sanctuary" and
describes a sacred space. The word is derived from the Hebrew
word qadas, referring to "that which is separate and holy." Everything
outside the entrance to the Sanctuary is profane and "unclean" while
everything within is sacred and "clean."
2. miskan (i.e. Ex 25:9): This Hebrew word is usually translated "tabernacle" or
"dwelling." It is a masculine noun that is derived from the Hebrew
verb sakan meaning to "settle down, abide, or dwell." This term can be
applied to one of the functions of the tabernacle as a dwelling place for God
among His people.
3. ohel (i.e. Ex 26:36): This Hebrew word is commonly used for a temporary or
transportable dwelling like a tent.
4. ohel mo'ed (i.e. Ex 29:42): The word mo'ed is derived from the Hebrew
verb ya'ad, meaning "to meet at an appointed place." The best translation
for the Hebrew term ohel mo'ed is "tent of meeting."
5. miskan ha'edut (i.e. Ex 38:21): This phrase is usually translated "the
tabernacle of the testimony." A variation of the same name appears
in Numbers 17:23 as ohel ha'edut, "tent of the testimony."
(see Brown-Driver-Briggs: Hebrew Lexicon, pages 874, 1014, 416-417; and
Strong's Exhaustive Concordance "tent," "tabernacle," "sanctuary."
